My Mind is a Blank

I promise I had something to write about this morning. I forgot what it was when I started talking to Jen about a bunch of Q nut jobs who went to Dallas to welcome JFK back. First, JFK would be over 100 years old. He ain’t coming back. Second. He’s dead. He ain’t coming back. Third, even if he was magically raised from the grave in a non-zombie fashion, why the ever loving fuck would he come back to Dallas? That would literally be the last place he would go. Also, there was a headline I saw yesterday (I can’t seem to find it now) saying something along the lines of if you get the Covid vaccine it will block whatever allows god to let you into heaven, or something like that. Meaning that god is a T-Rex and can’t see you unless you’re moving, or some shit like that. I don’t want to live on this planet any more.

I haven’t played my guitar in nine days. I haven’t done any recording either. My MacBook is currently on a fact finding mission to Guyana. I’m sure it will be fine. Without the MacBook though, there is no GarageBand and there is no November music project. Here’s hoping I can get back to it over the upcoming, glorious long weekend. I should end up with enough music to call it a finished project. It’s just not going to be good at all. Not even a little bit.

The kids are at their father’s house today. They come back here tomorrow afternoon some time. I wonder if there will be a Hawkeye viewing and maybe some hamburgers or something? There are things already on the agenda for tomorrow so I don’t know if we’ll be able to squeeze the first episode in before bed.

Thanksgiving is in two days. The prep work has been coming along for a while now, but it’s going to start ramping up today. Gobble Gobble, boys and girls. Two work days left before the long weekend… and I have so much work to do. Okay, I’m depressed again. Blah.

Cap’n America

My beautiful wife Jen said she was kinda in the mood for a movie tonight. A Marvel movie. Sure, I said. Pick one. There are about 100 to chose from.

She picked Captain America: Civil War.

Now if you were curious as to why I’m so out of my mind in love with her, take this as one of the billion reasons.

Ms Patches agrees.

What If? Finale Prep

The burgers are cooking. Harry is on standby to start the watch party. I’m signed out of work for the night.

It’s time for the season one finale of Marvel’s What If?

After this I’ll have to start Midnight Mass or Squid Game to hold me over until the Hawkeye show comes out.

Patches is psyched.

Look at My Cat, Again… Again

Okay, I’ll stop this gimmick now. For a while at least.

I just watched Venom. I don’t know why. It was okay. Probably better that a 30% on rottentomatoes.com. Not by much though. Decent but forgettable.

I just checked the MLB scores. The Red Sox won and the Mariners are losing. If that holds then we have the last AL wild card spot. please let it hold.

Okay, bed time. Here’s hoping I get some guitar in tomorrow.

Thursday Morning Musings

It’s September 30th. How the hell did we get here so fast? Yesterday and today the outside temperature when we woke up was cold enough for jackets. It just sucks. Covid ate two summers in a row, but they both flew by so fast anyway that I feel like we would have missed them even without Covid. Crud.

I forgot to mention this yesterday, but yesterday was the 11th anniversary of our buying this house. Our 11th Homeownerversary, if you will. I didn’t do anything to celebrate then, but I did today. I went downstairs to do laundry. While downstairs I looked for leaks and water on the floor. I didn’t find any. Oh happy day. I think there is probably some water under the floor tiles in a few spots still, but nothing visible. I need to run the dehumidifier for a few days to clean up the hidden stuff (in theory at least. Will it work? Who knows).

We are going to see the kids this weekend. Bellana asked if we could bring up some Fall clothes for her. I offered to wash everything first. Big mistake, Robert. There is so much laundry to do. So much. Mountains and piles and piles and mountains (I am exaggerating, yes, but there is a lot of it. A lot). I hope to have it all done tonight.

We missed the new What If last night. Jen was tied up at work and by the time that was wrapped up and dinner was done Harry was busy with homework. We’ll try the watch party thing again tonight. Last night we were going to mess up the tradition by not having burgers, but we can fix it tonight. Jen suggested veggie burgers. Consider it done.

And now, on to work. Happy Thursday, folks.

Morning and Night

I spent the morning before work recording guitar solos, and then I spent the evening after work recording more guitar solos. What a world.

Once again we were able to schedule a watch party so we could watch the new episode of What If? with Harry. No spoilers, but it was a nice change of pace to not have a super gloomy, dark, evil story and instead have some goofy fun. Jen and I kept the Burgers and Marvel tradition in tact, but they were turkey burgers and it wasn’t take out, so it was a little different. I liked it.

50/90: 42 songs finished and another seven have all of the parts tracked and are ready to mix. Three more are still waiting on lead guitars… and that’s it. Assuming I don’t get the overwhelming urge to do more in the final week, I am going to end on 52 this year and assuming an asteroid doesn’t hit the Earth and obliterate New England (or some similar catastrophic shit) I think I am going to finish on time. I want that little trophy image next to my name on the 50/90 site.

As Troh once said, Huzzah.*

*No spoilers, okay?

Hosed

Work has been insane this week. Since Friday, really. In:Sane.

I took a minute to check on the Lake Asshole Bucket. It was maybe 15% full. I put the wet vac’s hose into the bucket and sucked all of that shit right up. Bucket:Empty. That worked much better than trying to get the blender out from under the pipe without spilling anything (which was impossible).

The dehumidifier is still cranking away. I had to empty it once. The floor is pretty much dry. Oh happy day.

Two weeks (approximately) until they come to replace the water heater. Two weeks of Lake Asshole monitoring.

Now I will have time to have dinner with the love of my life, watch What If with the love of my life and possibly with my step son (via a watch party), and then add lead guitars to the four songs that are currently ready for them. The finished 50/90 song count is currently sitting at 38. Four more are ready for leads, six are ready for vocals (car music in the morning?), and two barely exist.

Hopefully going to make a push over the next couple of days… assuming work lets me. Have I mentioned work has been insane this week? In:Sane.

Marvel Zombies

So tonight’s episode of What If is the zombie episode.

No spoilers. I promise.

However, if you are like everyone in my family other than me and you find zombies too disturbing to watch, you might want to give it a miss. At the same time though, there is a lot of humor in the episode, so if you love the funny and think you can handle the scary, give it a try.

Okay. That’s all I am going to say about that.

Oh, and I think I just read that Star Wars Visions (the anime anthology series) premiers on September 22nd. So we have that going for us, assuming I didn’t misspell anime.
