The guitar was played today. That’s two days in a row. Glorious.
Yesterday I worked on four songs for the November Music thing. Today I worked on two songs for the re-recording thing. I wasn’t very good, but I didn’t suck too much. That was nice.
Okay, time to go cook dinner for the love of my life and then maybe do something else. She’s working today and I did a little cleaning to go along with the guitar playing and there is some stuff in the works for the cellar and shhhh I can’t tell anyone yet but shhhhh stop talking about it you moron.
Walking Dead spin offs tonight. Hate watch Fear then actually watch World Beyond? Yeah, I might do that. Or I might not. I don’t know. I’m sure when the hate watch starts I’ll post a bitch-fest post or two. Ya’ll have that to look forward too.
Rock and roll, zombified boys and girls.
I think I’ve run out of episodes for every TV show I had been watching that isn’t affiliated with The Walking Dead.
Now what?
Jen and I have been working through Big Band Theory again and I’ve been watching Futurama as sort of background noise.
We watched Lansky tonight. It was good. Not great. We both felt it should have focused on more specific things rather than give a broad overview with a lot of extraneous distractions.
Now what? We don’t get a new Marvel show for a couple of weeks and we don’t get a Star Wars show for over a month. Squid Game is out there. I’ll get to it. New seasons of You and Lock and Key are out, but the last season of each of them didn’t really do it for me. I’ll still probably get to them.
I don’t know what else to check out. Im going to have to do some digging around.
This is the greatest thing that has ever happened to YouTube, The Simpsons, or (The) Pink Floyd.
One Simpsons clip to describe every single Pink Floyd record. Some are a touch too obvious (Animals) but some (looking at you, Atom Heart Mother and A Saucerful of Secrets) are so spot on it’s literally terrifying. Also, you will all finally understand what the hell was going on in The Final Cut.
The first teaser trailer for The Book of Boba Fett is out.
How do I say, “Yes” in such a way as to demonstrate how much Yes I am feeling as I watch this?
I just saw the best part of this week’s episode of Fear the Walking Dead.
The best part was when it ended and World Beyond started. Not that World Beyond is any artistic triumph or anything. At its worst it’s still head and shoulders better than Fear.
Spoilers. Not really story spoilers but still spoilers.
Like a schmuck I did it again. I kicked off Sunday’s Fear the Walking Dead again. I only got four minutes in last time and it was awful. I’m 15 minutes in and it’s worse.
My favorite part is the claim that a fucking Ford Pinto in safe from nuclear radiation. Really. They said that. Also, within the blast zone of a nuclear bomb the roads are still clear and passable. Also, they stripped the car of everything that it doesn’t need in order to make it lighter and faster but they left the cassette deck.
What the fuck, writers?
Also, the worst show in history has a nearly constant screaming baby. Our entire existence as human beings is programmed to not be able to stand the sound of a crying baby and the worst show on television fills the first quarter of the episode with a crying baby. It’s like they are fucking with us on purpose now. They are actively trying to make us hate the show now.
Self torture, thy name is Robert.
Fudge.
I just watched last night’s episode of Walking Dead World Beyond. My spoiler free review of the episode? Meh. Just like all of the World Beyond episodes. It’s not terrible, it’s just dull.
That’s it, right? End of post, right?
I am a moron at heart so no, that’s not it. Four minutes ago I started last night’s episode of Fear the Walking Dead. It’s already one of the dumbest things I ever watched. In the previously on recap we watched two characters out-run a nuclear bomb blast. No, seriously. That happened. They out ran a nuclear explosion. Seeing that on the recap ties this episode for the dumbest episode in television history. It’s tied with the episode the scene originally came from.
Last night when 9:00pm came along I told myself I was done. Completeness be damned, I was not going to watch that idiotic, terrible, horrible, no good show again (unless I go back and rewatch season one through three, especially three which was friggin brilliant)… and now here I am watching the new episode.
Friggin idiot.
ADDENUM: Saved by the unconscionably shitty AMC app. I started watching on my laptop. It worked fine. After the last post I thought I’d get into bed and watch the rest on my iPad using the AMC app. Last nights episode is only available if you’re logged in. I refuse to create an AMC account so that’s out. I then tried to watch in a browser. It won’t load the episode. Fuck. You.
Sometimes I look at old posts to see what happened on this date in Rob’s personal history.
Jen and I are in the living room, baby talking to the cat (like ya do) and binging Schitt’s Creek.
I looked at posts from one year ago today and want to know what we were doing?
We were binging Schitt’s Creek.
So yeah, good show.
The smoke alarms stayed quiet for the rest of the night. I lost an hour sleep but that’s worth it for not having the house burn down. We briefly had a theory for what happened (other than it needed a battery swap). I put the dishwasher on before we went to bed and it looks like something small and plastic fell off the rack and landed close to the heat coil. That seemed likely until we did the math. The dishwasher would have been finished a few hours before the alarm went off. Oh well.
Fear the Walking Dead wasn’t terrible last night. It wasn’t good, but it was fair. Other than the laughably stupid light house thing where they decided light houses point straight down, of course. My beef is the same beef that I’ve beefed since Scott Gimple took over as show runner on the main show in season four. Last night was the season premier and we saw exactly one main cast member. One. The season is 16 episodes and the cast is lucky (I should put that word in quotes) if they work in half of them. This one had a character I was interested in, a little at least, but there will be entire episodes that don’t have a single character worth watching. It’s the Gimple way. World Beyond was fair at best too. We’re three episodes into the final season and we basically spent the whole hour introducing new people. Maybe when we look back on the whole thing we’ll realize we learned something important this week, but it sure just feels like prep work right now. Uh. Why do I care?
Red Sox/Astros ALCS game three is tonight at Fenway. Eduardo Rodriguez goes for the Red Sox. We need a big game from everyone tonight. We took the home field advantage away from them with the game two win, we need to hold it. The fewer trips to Houston we have to make, the better. Are you feeling the hype? I am.
Okay, folks. Time to go to work. Have a good one.
