The Disney+ Obi-Wan Kenobi series will debut on May 25th!
Yes, Yes, 1000 times Yes! The Book of Boba Fett is nice and all, but I want more Ben Kenobi and I want it NOW! Well… now or May 25th, whatever works for you, Disney+.
Yes!

Yes!
They call it Galactic Starcruiser. It’s a hotel that is supposed to be a 100% Star Wars immersion experience. It’s at Disney World in Orlanda, FL and it opens for reals on March 1st.
Given that I am one of the world’s biggest (literally and figuratively), and possibly most insufferable, Star Wars fanatics, is this something I want to do? We’re hoping to go to Disney in January, do I want to experience this?
I don’t know. Really, I don’t know.
I just read this CNET article that spells out the whole deal. The events seems cool, though the price is insulting. The price is high enough that it ends the discussion. I don’t want to pay that much money for two nights in a hotel. Let’s take money out of the discussion though. What then? I still don’t know.
The immersive experience seems very regimented. Your meals are scheduled, your events are scheduled, your trip to Galaxy’s Edge at Hollywood Studios is scheduled. I guess I am curious about how that works. Will the Rise of the Resistance ride shut down while the Galactic Starcruiser guests have their turn? Will Smugglers Run then also shut down for the hotel guests? Are all of the hotel guests going to bus over to Hollywood Studios together? What if the family in the room next to yours are douchebags? Do you have to spend the whole two days with them? What if I need to take a piss during one of the scheduled events? Do I have to hold it?
I think the scheduled nature of it is my biggest source of hesitation (after the money, of course). If I am on vacation with my family, am I going to want to spend two days on someone else’s clock?
As stated earlier, the money is a deal breaker. I don’t want to go at that price. For everything else, I think I’d like to hold off until the 10-20 million Disney YouTube channels are able to release their post-March 1st experiences (looking at you, Tim Tracker and Disney Food Blog. Come through for me!) before I decide if I am missing out on anything or not.
For now though, let’s leave it at May the Force be With You.
The last two episodes of The Book of Boba Fett have been so good that I have had Star Wars on the brain for days. This weekend, while I should have been doing more productive things, I have watched the whole sequel trilogy. I didn’t mean to. I was just in that mood, you know? On Friday night I just went over to the Disney+ and popped on Rise of Skywalker. It turned my nerd up to 11. Yesterday I did the same with The Last Jedi. A little while ago I put on The Force Awakens. It’s on right now. FN2187 just got chewed out by Captain Phasma.
So yeah, I watched them in reverse order. So what? You wanna make something out of it?
The Book of Boba Fett ends on Wednesday. Then what? Star Trek Picard comes back in early March. The next Marvel series comes out in late March, I think. When do the zombies come back? Oh Google? The second part of the three part 11th season of The Walking Dead comes back on February 20th. So why not watch me some Star Wars, even if it is in reverse order? Maybe next weekend I’ll start a Marvel rewatch. It probably won’t be in reverse order though.
Think I can blow through the whole MCU in one weekend?
We are working on scripts for a new Disney+/Star Wars show called The Grogu Show.
We are caught up on The Book of Boba Fett now. Let the discussions begin.

The plow guy did a great job. He only did our driveway, not the section of the yard that doubles as the kids driveway, but that’s okay. Those cars aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. He did a path from the driveway to the stairs on the side of the house which gains him the title of Hero++. That’s one rank higher than hero. He didn’t do the fire hydrant, but we didn’t ask him to. I went out and did it about an hour ago. Done and done.
I have some laundry to do today. I checked the dryer vent on the back of the house. It’s clear. We are all set to wash the sheets and stuff. Aren’t you happy to hear that little snippet of good news? I’m just a fountain of knowledge today.
The episode of The Mandalorian that introduces Ashoka Tano is so freakin’ good. The episode that reintroduces Boba Fett is almost as good. When he smashes the stormtrooper’s helmet with the gaffey stick? It’s like poetry, man.
Did I mention that the RPM Challenge starts the day after tomorrow? As if I haven’t been boring the crap out of everyone with music posts. Get ready for more, kids!
And that’s where we are at 12:09pm on a random Sunday.
But wait, there’s more! Just before I hit publish Bellana called. We had a FaceTime and it was lovely. Apparently our Dutch friends like to put mayonnaise on French Fries. I don’t know… I don’t know if I can get behind that trend. We’ll see.
I have one thought on episode five of Book of Boba Fett. I don’t think it’s a spoiler, but because it’s a general thought on the episode and the series as a whole it might be spoiler-adjacent. Spoilerish. Spoileresque. Whatever, if you’re worried about spoilers don’t read any further.
Okay?
You’ve been warned, even though there shouldn’t be anything to worry about.
Okay. Here goes.
We have five episodes of season one now. Episode five is far and away my favorite of the bunch. No contest. Today’s episode was, in my humble opinion, so much better than the previous four that it’s not even funny. Don’t get me wrong, I have enjoyed all four episodes. One was good. Two was excellent. Three… Four was very good.
The thing that bothers me about episode five (and also the thing that is sort of spoiler-adjacent) is that it has nothing to do with the overall story. It’s more or less a stand alone episode. It’s not quite X-Files freak of the week, but it’s close to that.
It’s a separate story from the main story line of the season… and it’s hands down the best episode.
What does that tell you about the story as a whole?
Just a thought, you know? Just a thought.
I think today was my ninth or 10th time playing Wordle. Not only was it my first fail, but it’s the first time I even needed to get to the sixth attempt.
I feel like such a loser, vocabularily* speaking.
The good news is we are going to do a Book of Boba Fett watch party with Harry in about an hour. That should make me feel better.
*Did I just use the word “vocabulary” as the basis for inventing a new word? I think I did. Is that irony?
It happens so often. I’m doing something and I put on a Bruins game and they immediately give up a goal. More often than not they give up the lead as well.
Tonight Jen and I had dinner, chicken and quinoa and roasted green beans, and then watched an episode of Cobra Kai. After that we had a watch party with Harry to see the new episode of The Book of Boba Fett. I approve of the episode in general but I am kinda done with the two time period stuff. I know how he escaped I know how he survived, now I just want to see The Sopranos in Space… except for the scooter kids. I’m done with them too.
What was I talking about?
Oh yeah, The Bruins. So after the watch party Jen went to the office to play some Warcraft and kill some bad guys. I retired to the bed room to put away some laundry and watch episode seven of Yellowjackets (WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING??). I opened up the NHL app on my phone and brought up the game cast (or whatever they call it) and saw the Bruins had a 2-1 lead over the Capitals. Awesome. As soon as the superlative formed in my tiny little brain the screen refreshed and Washington had tied the game at two.
Damn it.
Come on, Bruins. Let’s turn this around.
I know nothing about this except that this video says it is coming to Disney+ on March 30th.
So the Eternals has half of the cast of Game of Thrones. Now Marvel is grabbing an actor from Star Wars. Nothing wrong with any of that except for the whole identity crisis thing. I mean, while watching Eternals I kept wanting Robb Stark and Jon Snow to team up. They didn’t have an actual opportunity for that back in Westeros. Jon moved out of the house before things went nuts and Robb was left holding the bag, you know?
Now, how long before Mr. Moon Knight (yes, that was a sad attempt at a Beatles pun) calls up Rey and Finn and starts asking for help with the bad guys?
Seriously, I have been really pleased with all of the Marvel TV shows on Disney+. Even though I know nothing about this character, I am looking forward to it.
Tuukka Rask returned to the Bruins tonight and beat the Flyers 3-2. Pastrnak scored all three goals. A hat trick for Pasta tonight after a hat trick for Marchand last night. Sweetness all around.
Note to self: you opened a new jug of distilled water for the CPAP machine’s humidifier tonight. Try and keep track of how long it lasts, for future reference and stuff.
Patches is fully back to normal tonight. We can tell because she puked 17 pounds of partially eaten cat food onto Jen’s desk. Right as rain, feline.
I’m sitting up in bed for a little while. Should I rewatch episode 3 of The Book of Boba Fett or should I watch the first episode of The Peacemaker. Or should I just sleep.
You’re right. Sleep it is.
Possible car music in the morning. We will see when the morning gets here.
