Here’s a poll question, just for fun. Let me know what you think, okay?
Random Tuesday Morning Pictures
I walked around the house with my camera this morning, trying to think of something to use for today’s photo a day challenge that wasn’t a cat or a guitar. I ended up with mostly photos of cats and guitars.
My Pet Peeves
Name your top three pet peeves.
Daily writing prompt
Just three pet peeves? I hope I can narrow it down, there are so many.
- Fascists, fascist sympathizers, fascist collaborators. You know, anyone who is even the slightest degree of pro-nazi. Disgusting. Un-American. Just plain evil. They are my number one pet peeve.
- People who turn a blind eye to abuse. I’m thinking specifically of the sex abuse scandal in the Boston archdiocese story that broke about 20 years ago. Catholic priests were raping children and when they were caught by their superiors they were not thrown in jail to rot for their evil crimes. Instead, they were reassigned to new towns so that they could rape a fresh batch of kids. After fascism, that is pretty much the most evil thing that I have ever heard of. I’m sitting here getting royally pissed off just thinking about it.
- People who pronounce nuclear, “nucular”. The sound of it makes my skin crawl. I mean, nu-clear. It’s not a hard word to work out. Say it right or shut the fuck up. Damn.
There. Those are pretty much my top three pet peeves. I wonder, did I catch the spirit of today’s question? I think so.
Time to Panic
The Bruins lost two games over the weekend, including getting trounced by the Rangers on Saturday. Right now they are losing 3-0 to Columbus. I mean… Columbus.
Sure, they have the second best record in the NHL, but to lose the way they did and then to be down three to a meh team like Columbus?
Is it time for the epically pessimistic Boston sports fan in me to start panicking?
I think it might be!
Oh no!
Office Cats
Both cats hanging out in Jen’s office while she works. They were probably just waiting for the perfect moment to jump on the desk and cause chaos.
Deep Space 9 Podcasts
Over the weekend I got back into my rewatch of Star Trek Deep Space 9. When I paused it at the start of the ridiculous Doctor Who binge I was a few episodes into season two. Today I went looking for a rewatch podcast or two that I could listen to in conjunction with watching the episode. You know, like you do.
I found one called The 7th Rule that features Cirroc Lofton (who played Jake Sisko) and the late Aron Eisenberg (who played Nog). I am listening to their recap of an episode called Rivals (season two, episode 11, I think) and they are basically just making fun of Doctor Bashir’s outfit and it’s pretty freakin’ funny.
I just wanted to share.
(Sort of Almost) Daily Haiku for You #92
I had a bit of an accident while helping to prepare our Thanksgiving Part Deux dinner on Saturday. I did not share any information at the time, but now I feel like it rates a haiku for you. Enjoy.
Potato peeler,
Took a chunk of my finger.
Bleeding everywhere.
Morning Cats
Harry went back to Burlington yesterday afternoon. Bellana went back first thing this morning. She has a three hour commute to work today. I hate it when they leave. I miss them both. We’ll see Harry this coming weekend. Jen and I are taking him to a UVM vs UMass Lowell hockey game in Burlington. Bellana won’t be joining us as she’s going to a conference in Boston. We may not see her until Christmas. Blah. Boo.
Anyway, I took pictures of the cats this morning because I could. The cats eventually let both kids pick them up and hold them. Good for you, cats.
My Favorite People
Who are your current most favorite people
Daily writing prompt
Anyone who has spent five seconds on this page knows the answer to this question.
My favorite people are my wife Jen:
…and my step kids, Harry and Bellana:
They are the three people I care about the most. My three fav’s, by far.
That’s it. They are the sun my world revolves around. I love them all, more than I ever imagined I could love anyone. They make everything better.
The pics are from our trip to Disney World back in January. The two of Jen by herself are on film, the rest are digital. You know, just in case you were curious.
Goodnight Cat
The Thanksgiving four day weekend is coming to an end and Robin the Cat just wants to go to bed.
Goodnight, cat.
