Passion

Daily writing prompt
What are you passionate about?

Is it weird that I don’t feel as though I am terribly passionate about anything? I don’t think I am a passionate person, generally speaking. I don’t know. I think I am pretty level headed about most things. There are a couple of passions though.

I’m passionate about my love for my wife and my family. Would there be a point otherwise? That sort of goes without saying.

I am passionate about music. The intensity comes and goes, but it’s always there to some degree. Right now it’s running pretty high. The idea of playing with the band regularly again is pretty exciting for me these days.

Anyone who knows me could have guessed that those two things would be my answer. No surprises here.

What Do You Think?

Is it time for me and my wife to consider a career change?

Should we move to Florida and become full time Disney World YouTubers? We’ve spent so much time watching Disney World YouTube videos. You would think that we would have calmed down a little after coming home from our trip a couple of weeks ago, but since then we’ve already booked the next two Disney World vacation trips so we’re still plowing through anything YouTube has to offer… and there are so many Disney World YouTube channels that there are a ton of new videos each day.

Should we do it? I mean, I would absolutely be the most awkward DW vlogger on the net, but I also think that might be a good thing for the channel. It could be our schtick.

What do you think? Should we do it?

Sleepy

Two nights ago I got about 5.75 hours of sleep. I felt fine all day long until I finally got home from work. That was about 6:30pm. As soon as I walked in the door it hit me and I just felt completely exhausted.

Last night I got about 6.5 hours of sleep. I have felt completely exhausted all day.

Do you ever wish that things like sleep could actually start making sense? Wouldn’t that be nice?

I haven’t used my CPAP machine since before we went to Florida. I packed it and took it with us, but I never set it up. I had a bad cold when I got home and didn’t want to be inhaling phlegm all night so I didn’t set it up at home either. Maybe I’ll finally get back to it tonight. I’m pretty sure I don’t need it anymore, but maybe there’s some kind of placebo affect I could take advantage of? Probably not, but who knows.

All I know for sure is that I could use a nap right now.

Summer

Daily writing prompt
What is your favorite season of year? Why?

Heh heh… if we needed any more proof that a crappy AI was writing the daily prompts, I think the grammar error is it.

What is your favorite season of THE year? Heh heh. Sorry. As someone who typos and grammar errors so often that you’d think I was doing it on purpose, I should be one to talk. Still… heh heh.

Summer! My favorite season of year is the Summer. Hands down, no question, no contest. I hate being cold. In New England the winter runs from about September 1st through June 1st. We get a month of Spring, a few days of Autumn, and about six weeks of Summer. The rest of the year is frozen tundra awfulness*.

I cherish my short, glorious, warm weather season every year. Of course it rains every day now. That didn’t used to be the case, but it is now. Rain every day, no sun to speak of, but warm temperatures. If that’s the best I can hope for them I’ll take it. At least until we pack up and move to San Diego… someday.

*You probably think I am exaggerating, and I am… but only a little.

Action Matt Smith

I started prepping for season two of House of the Dragon last night by re-watching season one. I’m watching the very end of episode three as I type this.

I am glad that I watched HotD before I watched all of Doctor Who. I think my feeble little brain would have typecast Matt Smith as a fish chips and custard eating nerd of an 11th Doctor and would therefore have had a tough time seeing him as the action star he is in HotD.

Maybe. Maybe not. I mean, maybe the guy is just really good at his job.

Having said that, I wonder if now knowing Matt Smith as The Doctor will make all the incest in HotD even more difficult to watch than it already was. Probably. If only Amy and Rory could come and save him from it all.

Two Periods Down

Game two of the Stanley Cup Final. After two periods from Miami, FL, the Oilers and Panthers are tied at one goal apiece.

I knew the Oilers’ lead through one period wasn’t going to hold. Damn it.

I expect more from your third period, Edmonton. I expect a lot more.

One Period Down

After one period of play in Game Two of the Stanley Cup Final, the Oilers have a 1-0 lead over the Panthers.

Finally.

There is zero chance that this game ends 1-0. Come now, Edmonton. Let’s pad that lead in the second period.

I’m not watching the game, as I don’t have cable anymore and don’t know how to stream ABC. Instead I’m following the gamecast in a browser window while starting to re-watch season one of House of the Dragon because season two starts on Sunday. Gots to get ready for some Game of Thrones Prequel style carnage, am I right?

Let’s go Oilers!

Game Two

Game Two of the Stanley Cup Final between Edmonton and Florida is about to start down in Miami where ice is somehow a thing?

Florida took game one, two nights ago, by a score of 3-0. I read interviews with Edmonton players today who were all gung ho about how well they played in the loss and how if they play that well again good things will happen.

Do those good things include scoring one goal? Sheesh.

I want Edmonton to win the Stanley Cup because I hate the Florida Panthers with every ounce of hate I can muster. I am rooting for the Oilers despite their having beaten my Bruins in the Cup Final in both 1988 and 1990. I hate myself for rooting for them now, but only a little… because I hate Florida so very much.

Come on, Oilers. Get your shit together and win game two.
