I have been playing guitar since 1986. Today was the first time I adjusted a truss rod myself. Hell, it was the first time I even took off cover.
I think it worked. I had a nasty fret buzz on my ES-335 down around the second fret. I think it’s better now. Crossing my fingers.
I used this video and it was helpful.


@robertjames1971.blog I adjust my truss rods all the time. But I'm in a volatile climate and have cheap guitars. What's the object that seems to be screwed in to the top to the left of the bridge?

I have no clue what that thing is. It was there when I bought the guitar 24 years ago and I just left it there.

@robertjames1971.blog don't want to be the kill-joy but a buzz on ONLY the second fret means it's probably not only the wrong truss rod adjustment.
This guitar might need a fret dress…

The adjustment removed the buzz. The frets are only a few months old. It was just a weather related tweak.
