I got to the mall early. I’m outside of Lens Crafters trying to keep my cool as possible plague carriers cheerfully walk by.

I have no idea what’s going on with this, but I just saw some tweets from the MA State Police talking about an armed standoff that has closed part of route 95 near Wakefield.
WCVB.com reports: Standoff with armed group closes part of I-95; Wakefield, Reading asked to shelter-in-place
Could be nothing, but worth keeping an eye on.
I have an eye doctor appointment scheduled for about an hour from now. I have my insurance card at the ready, I need to stop for gas on the way, but otherwise I’m all set.
And I am freaking out. This isn’t the first time I am voluntarily letting someone get right up close to me, but in the Covid-19 world (note, I did not say post-Covid-19 world) I am just not comfortable with it yet. I don’t know if I will ever feel comfortable with it again. I hope so. I can’t handle this extra stress piled on top of all of the other extra stress. I’m tired of this. Additionally, if you allow me to quote the great Roger Murtaugh, I’m too old for this shit.
I’m hoping to get a pair of general use glasses and a pair of sitting at the computer all day working glasses. We’ll see.
Three games to none, babie! The Lightning beat the hated Canadiens 6-3 in Montreal tonight to take a three games to none lead in the Stanley Cup Final series. The only downside is that we have an extra day off before game four.
Tampa Bay goes for the sweep in Montreal on Monday night. Let’s hope they finish it off. Don’t give Montreal even a tiny scrap of hope!
After two periods the Lightning have a 4-2 lead. The Canadiens have doubled their goal total from the first two games and that is awful. Fortunately the team that isn’t the spawn of satan still has a decent lead.
20 minutes to go, Tampa Bay. Hang in their, guys.
After one period in game three the Lightning have a 2-1 lead against the evil.
I know having a two games to none lead does not equate to a must win for Tampa Bay, but when Montreal is concerned? Total must win.
Everyone psyched for the big fourth of July weekend? I am! I just punched out of work a few minutes ago and I could use a good long weekend.
Of course the forecast calls for frosty cold and constant rain and I have to spend 24 hours at my mother’s house instead of with Jen and Harry, but it’s still a long weekend and I am going to make the most of it, damn it!
Pour one out for America!
I’m on my lunch break. I started a little late today due to a conference call. No big deal. All good news. The last few days at work have felt a little like I am stuck in a time loop. My own personal Groundhog’s Day, if you will. It’s weird. I feel like I am getting the same questions and looking at the same functionality over and over again. We wrap it all up at the end of the day and then are asked to work on it again the next day. It’s very weird.
What else is going on?
Stanley Cup Final game #3 tonight. They are playing in the lion’s den for the first time. Montreal. The home of the most evil hockey team in all of hockey. Tampa Bay cannot take their foot off of the metaphorical gas. The universe demands Tampa Bay win, and the universe is optimistic that they will win in a sweep. I don’t know if I am going to be able to watch any of it tonight. We’ll see. I will definitely be following the score.
We’ve had a ton of rain over the last couple of days. We have a little water in the cellar. Not much. Just a little. I still haven’t shared our basement 2020/21 nightmare yet, and I probably won’t at this point, but suffice to say that getting a little water in the cellar is triggering me like you wouldn’t believe. It’s not PTSD, as I would never insult someone who actually experiences PTSD by equating my current state with theirs, but seeing that water on the floor was a kick in the pants, believe me.
One final question before I get back to work. Would you consider people who work at amusement parks to be carnies? I’m not talking about a traveling fair or anything like that. I’m talking about a stationary amusement park. I don’t think you would call people in that profession carnies, but the 15 seconds worth of Googling I did failed to give me a definite answer. It failed to give me any answer.
Okay, back to work.
Okay, I’ve got the guitar rig for the summer in place. Welcome back to my sweet little 15 watt Fender Bassbreaker.

Dusting faux tweed is hard.
Just add a shiny new Les Paul and we are on our way.
Addendum: My iPhone autocorrected “on our” to “In-N-Out”. WTF, I ask you. W. T. F?
I signed up for this year’s 50/90 today. We’ll see how long it takes before I burn out on it. Initial plans are to swap out the Vox amp for one of the Fenders and to keep using the same 3-4 pedals I’ve been using over the last few months. I will start the first day (Sunday the 4th) at my parents’ house. I won’t have much to do outside of Nana Sitting duties so maybe I can get a good jump on things. I have a Trello board setup, but we only get five freebies now so I will probably delete it when I’m done. Whatever. I used to have a Tumblr account that I used for daily check ins on recording projects. I might do that again too. Anything to manufacture some phony BS motivation.
I am up to date on Loki now. Episode four was totally worth the wait. I will be up to date on The Bad Batch in about six minutes when the episode I am watching right now ends. Disney+, I am keeping up with your mad pace.
What else is going on? Right now? Not much. It’s Friday and this weekend is a three day weekend. Glorious. Quitting time is in about nine hours. I can make it that far. Just hold on, fat boy. You can make it that far.
