There is a new trailer for The Book of Boba Fett that snuck past me. It’s short and doesn’t give much away. It’s the first thing in this video, which seems to cut all of the trailers together.
To say I am hyped is a huge understatement.

I just can’t. I can’t put it into words. Tonight’s episode of Fear the Walking Dead is so bad. It’s just… sooo bad. Every episode this season has ranged between horrible and stupid. Unwatchable and ridiculous. Tonight’s episode has to be the worst of them all. I didn’t think they could do worse than the crying baby episode, but this one just blows the crying baby episode out of the water. Granted, there was a lot of crying baby in tonight’s cold open, but it actually went down from there.
Oh my god this is terrible!
I said I was going to push the Walking Dead spin offs until tomorrow, but my ears are fried and I won’t be able to get any mixes done tonight.
So it’s zombie time.
I just watched the cold open of Fear the Walking Dead. If it could have just been a tiny bit worse than the idiotic awfulness that it was then it would have been funny.
It definitely wasn’t funny. It was just awful. Like…. So awful.
As usual, no spoilers.
Episode three is worth it just for the rooftop. My personal favorite part is Paul playing step dad to Heather, and John teasing her about cats.
I loved every second of the entire three part series. I’ve been in almost all of those situations. Bands writing songs and having conflicts over who should play what and how, including wanting to let your band mates play your songs how they want but also wanting them to just do what you tell them. Also, bands falling apart because they are unable to set goals. Also, bands under deadline pressure who waste huge amounts of time goofing off.
The Beatles were just like all of the rest of us, and Paul was a step father. Can you say, relatable? I would watch the whole 7-8 hour thing again, over and over.
Also, I got a goofy kick every time someone called Ringo, Ritchie or Rich. Not sure why, I just loved it. Every time.
Last night, before I went to bed, I promised myself that I was going to spend a lot of time today working on music.
Guess how much work I did.
Go on, guess… I’ll wait…
That’s right. I did exactly zero seconds of work. None. Zilch.
I therefore am going to make the same promise for tomorrow, and hopefully I will actually keep this one.
Car music in the morning. Lots of guitars throughout the day. Maybe add at least one new song. Mix as many songs as I can get finished.
We also will have a visit from the kids so that we can decorate our new christmas tree together. Outside of that… music. You promise breaking twit.
For tonight though, it’s That Pedal Show and Supergirl.
I’ve seen The Beatles Let it Be movie. I’ve listened to the Twickenham bootleg. I’ve listened to the 30 Days bootleg. There is nothing in the new documentary that is a surprise to me.
Having said that, the new Get Back documentary is utterly riveting. We watched the second episode today and oh my god it was fascinating. I could not stop myself from smiling all the way through.
It demonstrates that when you carve away the fame and the fandom and the hype, they were just a band. Just like every basement or bar band. They had all of the same conflicts and problems that literally all of us have had. Seeing that on the screen was absolutely amazing.
No spoilers, of course, but the conversation between John and Paul in the Twickenham cafeteria when they didn’t know they were being recorded was just incredible. I mean, I have had that conversation with band mates before!!! Granted for me the stakes were reduced by about 99.99999999%, but I seriously have been there myself.
Outside of all of the political stuff, the second episode also demonstrates that they were just a killer live band. In the first episode they are aimless and distracted and playing pretty poorly. In the second episode they have a direction and a purpose and they are firing on all cylinders and they are starting to sound great.
The running time for the first two episodes is about 5.5 hours combined. Episode three is out tomorrow and I can’t wait to watch it.
Episode two.

Episode one.

Has Bake Off ever had an American contestant? I mean on the real show, not the crappy US version with the spice girl.
I promise I had something to write about this morning. I forgot what it was when I started talking to Jen about a bunch of Q nut jobs who went to Dallas to welcome JFK back. First, JFK would be over 100 years old. He ain’t coming back. Second. He’s dead. He ain’t coming back. Third, even if he was magically raised from the grave in a non-zombie fashion, why the ever loving fuck would he come back to Dallas? That would literally be the last place he would go. Also, there was a headline I saw yesterday (I can’t seem to find it now) saying something along the lines of if you get the Covid vaccine it will block whatever allows god to let you into heaven, or something like that. Meaning that god is a T-Rex and can’t see you unless you’re moving, or some shit like that. I don’t want to live on this planet any more.
I haven’t played my guitar in nine days. I haven’t done any recording either. My MacBook is currently on a fact finding mission to Guyana. I’m sure it will be fine. Without the MacBook though, there is no GarageBand and there is no November music project. Here’s hoping I can get back to it over the upcoming, glorious long weekend. I should end up with enough music to call it a finished project. It’s just not going to be good at all. Not even a little bit.
The kids are at their father’s house today. They come back here tomorrow afternoon some time. I wonder if there will be a Hawkeye viewing and maybe some hamburgers or something? There are things already on the agenda for tomorrow so I don’t know if we’ll be able to squeeze the first episode in before bed.
Thanksgiving is in two days. The prep work has been coming along for a while now, but it’s going to start ramping up today. Gobble Gobble, boys and girls. Two work days left before the long weekend… and I have so much work to do. Okay, I’m depressed again. Blah.
