I went to the supermarket this morning.

I went to the supermarket this morning.

Some people are hoarding toilet paper. Some people are hoarding hand sanitizer.
Me? I’m hoarding this:

I finished two of my March Music songs today. Everything’s done but the final mix. I wrote two songs worth of melodies and lyrics, and then recorded two songs worth of vocals and lead guitars.
Given that these are the first two songs I’ve brought along this far this month it might be safe to assume they are my favorites of all of the things currently in progress (there are eight songs so far) and you would be correct.
After today’s contributions though, these are now officially the two worst songs I’ve ever written, the two worst vocal performances I’ve ever recorded, and the two worst guitar performances I’ve ever recorded.
I suck.
I tried to make myself feel better by going a little nutty with Hipstamatic. Shake to Shuffle didn’t shake my current musical sucking.
I’ve been sitting here for like 45 minutes and I had no idea she was in here with me.

There is a global pandemic right now so I’m getting my car inspected. You know, like you do.
I went to a supermarket… a little one two towns away. It was not terribly busy, but a lot of the shelves were empty. No eggs, no milk, but plenty of English muffins and peanut butter. Win.

The question is…. do I go to Guitar Center next?
I saw this out the window today at work*. One car pulled over and seven state troopers on the scene, including one who was blocking the second lane.
This was a little before 1:00 PM. A little more than an hour late I heard two co-workers talking about all the staties and I looked out the window and not only were they still there, but there were two more along with an ambulance.
*I misspelled “more” like four times. I thought it was me. Then I misspelled two more words that had “r” in them. Now I’m wondering (this was another “r” typo) if I am seeing the first sign of the fatal MacBook Pro keyboard issue.
rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
We start our extended work from home on Monday. Today is supposed to be our last day in the office. This is what the basement of the garage looked like when I arrived.
Okay, full disclosure. I was about 30 minutes earlier than usual, and a lot of people normally work from home on Fridays. Still…
We were just informed that during our (estimated) two weeks out of the office the operations staff are planning on disinfecting the holy hell out of the whole building. We were told to not leave anything on our desks. I can do that.
From the morning commute:

From the evening commute:

Are we seeing the trend here? Let’s hope for better luck tomorrow, even though it’s my work from home day.
I brought my Fender Stratocaster up from the cellar this morning. I cleaned everything out of the case (except for the whammy bar and a couple of strap locks that were there when I bought the guitar six years ago). I plugged it into the little Bassbreaker and made sure everything worked. The volume pot is a touch on the scratchy side, other than that it’s top notch.
Then I put it back in the case and leaned it against the wall and left it there. I was going to take it to Guitar Center tonight after work to see how much they would give me for a trade in. I paid $700. Strangely, $700 is about the retail price for a Vox AC15 amplifier. Weird how that works out, eh? I know Guitar Center has a reputation for being stingy about trades and if they offer anything less than $700 I’ll take it somewhere else. Maybe ebay. Maybe reverb. I’m not taking a loss on this baby. No way.
I’m not doing any of that tonight though. I’ll take a look at the world situation on Saturday and see how things look. This is the very definition of non-essential. It can wait.
