Game Five: Tied in the Third

Game five is about seven minutes into the third period and the score is tied at one.

This isn’t a must win for the Bruins, what with their three games to one lead in the series, but after blowing the same lead to Florida in the first round last year, it sure feels like a must win to me!

Come on, Bruins. You’ve got half a period left to put Toronto away for good.

Game Five

I turned on the Bruins game just in time to see the Leafs score and take a 1-0 lead in the first period.

MuthaPussBucket!

The pain of the collapse in games five, six, and seven in the first round against Florida last year is still very fresh in my mind.

Not again, Bruins. Pretty please?

3-0 After Two Periods

The Bruins are up 3-0 after two periods in Toronto. I’ve only managed to watch a few minutes of the game, but I saw the first goal.

It’s game four of the first round best of seven series. The Bruins lead the series two games to one. It sure would be nice to hold on to this lead and then wrap up the series at home on Tuesday.

Wait, Tuesday? Yes, there is a second two day break between games. A second consecutive two day break. Ugh.

Go Bruins!

Why Can’t They Win at Home?

The Boston Red Sox kicked off a home stand tonight at Fenway Park.

They are trailing the Cubs 5-1 in the top of the seventh inning. The odds of them winning were low even before the Cubbies took an early lead.

Why?

Because the Red Sox can’t win at home. Why can’t the Red Sox win at home? What’s going on? It’s Fenway Freakin’ Park? Hows abouts you win some games at home, Red Sox? Let’s cut the shit.

In other Boston sports news, the Bruins play the Leafs in game four of their first round series in Toronto tomorrow night. I really wish tomorrow’s game was tonight. I hate the random two day breaks during the playoffs. One day off between games is plenty. Cut the crap, NHL. I wants me my hockey games!

Okay, enough sports for this post.

Go Red Sox (puh-leeze!)

Go Bruins.

The Bruins Win Game Three

The Bruins beat the Leafs 4-2 tonight to take a two games to one lead in their best of seven first round series.

And all was right with the world.

I did not see a single second of the game as I was out all night at an after work, work thing. I missed the game and I missed my wife even more. Blah.

I’m in the office again tomorrow. It’s the third day of a three consecutive days in the office deal. Blah.

Game four of the series doesn’t happen until Saturday and that blows. Blah. I’ll have to hope that the Red Sox can tide me over during that extra day off. They beat Cleveland tonight and that is borderline miraculous. Praise be.

No Score After One Period

The Bruins and the Maple Leafs are scoreless after one period in game three of their first round series.

Unrelated, this restaurant has the same plates that Jen bought when we redid the kitchen. Amazing!

Game Two: The Bruins Lose

The Leafs came back to take game two of the best of seven first round series. If Swayman plays goal in game three and wins, will we have a full blown goalie controversy? We’ll see. Game three is Wednesday (I think… isn’t it?)

Anyway, let’s chase those hockey blues away by listening to a newly mixed crappy song. Quarantine Tunes Volume Seven is done save for figuring out the actual running order for the 11 songs. More on that to come in the future though. For now, here’s the last song.

Game Two: After Two Periods

In game two of the first round playoff series between the Bruins and the Maple Leafs, it’s tied at two goals apiece after two periods.

The Leafs tied it in the last couple of minutes of the period. I almost jumped the gun and wrote a post saying the Bruins were up 2-1. Friggin’ Leafs.

Pastrnak had one of the goals for Boston. That’s good, at least.

Go Bruins

5-1 Final

I watched most of the first period and then just followed the score on my phone until I fell asleep during the third. The Bruins took game one from the Maple Leafs by a score of 5-1.

I am happy. One win down and three to go.

Game two is tomorrow (Monday) night.

Go Bruins!
