Are we going back to Disney World? Yes. Yes we are. See you in September.
Crazy morning. I normally set my alarm for 5:00am on weekdays and then hit snooze a few times but still get out of bed well before 6:00. Today I didn’t get up until almost 7:00. I assumed my whole morning routine was going to get flushed.
Nope. I got everything I wanted to get done, done.
I fed and watered the cats. I emptied the dishwasher and put the dirty dishes in and cleaned them. I did a load of laundry. I watched Dead City (but not Fear the Walking Dead, thankfully). I ran in place for 32 minutes and closed my exercise ring. I ate breakfast. I drank 16 ounces of water and took my morning vitamins. I took a shower and got dressed and punched in to work with 10 minutes to spare.
I also extended the guitar playing streak to 12 days. I put lead guitars onto one of the songs I put vocals on yesterday. It wasn’t good, but it was a lot better than the last few leads I recorded. Nice.
I also used guitar as an excuse to take today’s photo a day challenge picture. I got everything I wanted to get to this morning done. Good job, Roberto.
Will the guitar playing streak end tomorrow? It probably depends on the weather, I think. If the weather is okay then I might go to the movie theater parking lot shortly after the sun comes up and start the couch to 5k thing. If I do that, I probably won’t have time for guitar before work. I could always try to get it in after work, but that is a lot harder to do.
I just checked the hourly forecast. It’s going to be chilly, but the 6:00am hour is currently looking like it will be rain free. We might be doing this thing, kids. We just might be doing it.
I was up really late last night. Well, late for an old fart like me. I then over slept by almost two hours this morning. Ooops.
I booked it into the cellar and did my 30ish minutes of jogging (yogging) while watching the premier episode of The Walking Dead: Dead City. After weeks of suffering through Fear the Walking Dead, how does it feel to have a new show to watch?
No spoilers, of course…
Oh, does it feel good! I really enjoyed this first episode. All the things that I missed from the main show were back. Some of the walker fun was a little on the goofy side, but at least it made sense, unlike that other shitty show.
Here’s hoping this show keeps up the good work and doesn’t turn into garbage like that… other show.
Okay, it’s 8:00am. I have one hour to put lead guitars onto a song or two, shit/shower/shave, and punch into work. Wish me luck, folks!
I installed another Couch to 5K training app on my iPhone today. I did it the other day only to get iCockBlocked by a required subscription plan. This time I was able to get to the training description (run for one minute, walk for three during your first workout) without being forced to pay money. I take that as a win.
The app wants you to do three workouts per week. My questions for myself are, when and where? The when will probably be Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. I would rather do Monday, Wednesday, and Friday but Wednesday is my in-the-office day and there isn’t a lot of time in the morning to waste on things like workouts. So I think we’ll start on Tuesday.
The where is another issue. Originally I was planning on just running around the block, starting at the end of my driveway. I don’t know if I want to subject the neighbors to such a terrible site though. Now I am thinking of following my same game plan for car music. There’s a movie theater in town that doesn’t open until well after I start my work day. They have a huge parking lot that often doubles as my recording studio. I think that, starting Tuesday, it might also double as my 5K training track. Either that or the rail trail downtown. Maybe I’ll alternate between the two. Who knows.
Fingers crossed I don’t chicken out on Tuesday morning. We’ll see how it goes. I’m sure I’ll write 236972357 blog posts sharing every minute detail.
Bellana got me plants for the cellar for Fathers Day. As always I feel like a fraud on Fathers Day, but I also feel appreciated and loved and it’s wonderful.

Later tonight we are going to dinner with my Father. If anyone deserves a happy Fathers Day today it’s him.
Wishing a happy Fathers Day to all of the fathers out there. Have a wonderful day, all of you.
If you are like me and are a huge fan of the movies Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and The World’s End and often find yourself wishing for more viewing options from the team of Simon Pegg, Edgar Wright, and Nick Frost, along with the rest of the gang, and you know there was a TV series called Spaced that they all did together prior to Shaun of the Dead but could never see it because it wasn’t available anywhere for either streaming or purchase, then I have some news for you.
It is available for streaming on the Tubi app. It’s free with commercials. There are only two seasons with a total of 14 episodes. I am on season one episode six and it is every bit as ridiculous and insane and wonderful and, well… English as I had hoped it would be.
Enjoy, folks. Enjoy.
My plan to do some vocal recording in the car in the morning just spontaneously combusted.
Why?
Jen and Bellana went out to run an errand and left me at home alone. So… I tracked the vocals on the only two songs that were ready to go. Now I don’t have to do it tomorrow.
Unless I write more lyrics tonight, I guess.
Yesterday’s music output was decent. I put guitars on two songs in the morning. Later I wrote lyrics for two songs and mixed another song. Before bed I started a new song idea and that makes 10 for the month of June. I’m not saying I will finish my album in a month goal for June, but it’s a whole lot easier to reach it when you actually have the correct number of songs in progress. Now, having said that, I had 10 songs in progress in May as well and I didn’t finish any of them so… yeah.
The guitar playing streak is up to 11 days. I think today might be the last day though. I think I want to do car vocals tomorrow instead. We’ll see. I also might want to start the couch to 5k stuff tomorrow. I am still undecided. Again, we’ll see. I did spend about 20 minutes playing today though. I put rhythm guitars on the new song idea from last night. That means all 10 June songs have rhythm guitars now. Good stuff!
