Patches looks thrilled to see me pointing a camera at her.
Pout babie, pout.

I was sitting at my desk a few minutes ago, looking at the Covid-19 numbers for the day (they were bad. Very bad). Patches decided to jump up onto the desk and say hello. Her aim was a little off and one leg missed. It slipped off the desk and onto my leg. Her claws were out. She got me. No broken skin, but ouch.
The other day she got Jen on the shoulder when Jen tried to pick her up (she acts like she HATES being picked up, but she always purrs like crazy when Jen does it. I think she’s just playing hard to get and secretly loves being picked up).
We don’t have to worry about turning into some shitty 70’s rock song, do we?
#sarcasm is a given, okay?
It’s been so long since we’ve seen the Japanese Peace Lily bloom, and here’s this little sucker looking like it was going to and suddenly it’s turning brown!
Aw, come on you son of a bitch! Bloom, damn it!!

The NHL shut down the Calgary Flames for Covid the other day. Today the Bruins, after playing Calgary a few days ago, had two players, including Brad Marchand, go into the Covid protocol. Then later the league postponed the Carolina vs Minnesota game for, you guessed it, Covid.
The debate is raging over whether or not the NHL is going to participate in the Olympics. How are they going to keep everyone safe in the viral incubator known as the Olympic village if they can’t keep everyone safe during normal operations?
They are talking about keeping everyone home. You know, I was really hoping for some NHL/Olympic hockey this year. It’s going to suck if they back out.
The depleted Bruins are playing Vegas tonight. Here’s hoping no one else gets sick. Covid is a prick.
ADDENDUM: Vegas is kicking the shit out of the Bruins. We are down 3-0 after one. Crap.

I’ve got a bike, you can ride it if you like. It’s got a basket, a bell that rings, and things to make it look good. I’d give it to you if I could but I borrowed it.

I get up for one minute and BAM! Patches steals my spot.

That’s where I sleep, Patches! Go find your own spot!
I wrote lyrics and a melody for December’s song and made sure I had all of the lyrics I needed for the re-recordings so I’m set for Monday morning car music.
I brought up a song that’s ready to mix, but changed my mind. I’m feeling a little brain fried tonight. I’ll try again tomorrow night. We will see.
This one’s going to be a little depressing. Also kind of irrational and not very happy.
Jen has been re-watching Sex and the City and I’ve been coming along for the ride. We just watched a cheese puff episode that got really real and uncomfortable.
After seeing the World Trade Center twin towers in the opening credits, the episode opened at a party full of New York Firemen. We think the episode originally aired in 2000.
Reality and cheese puff fiction blurred for a moment as a character said he worked at a station in lower Manhattan. Jen and I exchanged uncomfortable looks and speculated that he was very likely dead.
Suddenly the show wasn’t quite as light and fun as it used to be. 20+ years and it is still painful.
It is raining so hard right now that it sounds like someone is playing drums against the side of the house. Wow.
Is it too late to start building that ark thing?
Also, it’s 57 degrees out at 11:52 pm on December 11th. Just FYI.
