The Boys

A couple of weeks ago, while convalescing, I got tired of waiting for season three of The Boys on Amazon to launch so I started watching season one. I figured I’d watch the first two seasons in time for the third season to start.

Unfortunately I got my dates mixed up. I thought the third season would start in mid-June, but it started yesterday. I was only one episode into season two. What was I to do?

I’ve been ready for season three since the minute I finished season two, back whenever that was. Should I just start season three without finishing rewatching season two?

Does it matter? Does anyone care? Do I care?

Okay, nerd-boy. Let’s finish season two. Nerd.

Music Tomorrow?

I’m thinking of getting up early tomorrow and doing some car music. It will be my first attempt at tracking vocals since the surgery. I’m hoping it doesn’t hurt at all. I have three songs ready to go so there’s plenty to work on.

Tomorrow is the last weekday of my sick leave. I should spend it on music as well as tracking liquids and food protein levels, right?

Doing Stuff

I logged into work today. The first time in almost a month. I’m not actually allowed to work because I’m still on leave, but I needed to find out what I needed to do to in order to both go back next week and to get paid.

All of the paper work has been filed. All of the forms have been submitted. We are good to go on Monday.

I had to drive to the clinic to get a form that I already had. Don’t ask, it’s kinda silly. I learned a terrible truth. Traffic on route 495 at 11:30 am on Thursdays is indistinguishable from Sunday mornings. I swear it was like experiencing life in slow motion. Everyone but me was moving at 2/3 speed. It was frustrating as hell.

Once I was back in Methuen I had to go to the pharmacy to get a prescription filled. That’s when the 2/3 speed traffic morphed into 1/3 speed. It took 17 hours* to get through the center of town.

I tells ya, I do not miss commuting.

*Slight exaggeration.

Tube Amps are Heavy

There was some talk between a couple of us in the band of trying to get everyone together sometime in June and seeing if we can have a band practice or something. I’m really hoping we can make that happen.

I started figuring out what to use for gear for this hypothetical jam. My new Les Paul is a given. The new pedal board I put together a few weeks ago is a given too. For the amplifier I was going to bring my AC15. There’s a problem with that though.

I’m under doctors orders to not lift anything heavy. I’m maxed at 25 pounds. That continues at the minimum through mid-June. Unfortunately tube amps, even little ones, are freaking heavy. My AC15 weighs about 50 pounds. Okay, so that’s out. I’m now planning on taking my MV50 and my Fender 1×12 cab. That’ll work.

Once we get into July I’ll bring the AC15. I want to bring my Deluxe Reverb home from the rehearsal room so I can use it on home demo goofiness. That amp is even heavier, so it’s going to stay where it is for now. I could use that at the first practice, but I’m afraid something might have happened during the 2+ years it’s been sitting and I don’t want to rely on it.

So NuTubes it is.

Obi-Wan Kenobi Part III Spoiler Free Review

Here is my spoiler free review of episode three of Obi-Wan Kenobi….

OH MY GOD DID YOU SEE THAT? DID YOU SEE WHAT JUST HAPPENED?? I CAN’T BELIEVE WHAT I JUST SAW!!! THAT WAS SO FREAKING AWESOME!!!!

AWESOME!!!!!!!

An Exercise First

I always talk about trying to close the exercise ring on my AppleWatch. I’m sure I’m annoying AF. I usually just walk in place for a few minutes at a time over the course of a day until I get up to 30 minutes.

Today I did something I’ve only done a couple of times since the start of the pandemic when the whole walking in place became a thing.

I did all 30 minutes in one go. It was the walk in place equivalent of 2.2 miles, which is quite a bit slower pace than I was doing back in late 2020, but I’ll take it.

I need to start using the exercise bike instead of walking in place, but for today I’ll take it. I’m kinda pleased with myself.
