I have just over a month to go before I finish my fifth consecutive photo-a-day-for-a-year challenge over on Flickr.
Five years with at least one snap a day. That’s a long time.
So… is today’s photo proof that I am completely out of ideas?
Or, is it just proof that I currently have no facial stubble? I’m not sure.
As expected, day 26 was pretty light on progress. I mixed two songs. That brings the count up to 14 songs finished. 14 down, 36 to go. 28% complete. There is still a chance that I may be able to get to 20 before the month of July ends. That would be a double album’s worth of music by RPM Challenge standards. That would be a happy thing.
She’s napping. I’m jealous.
I wanted to take a picture of a cat for today’s photo a day thing. Unfortunately when I took my phone upstairs during my lunch break both cats were hiding and I couldn’t find them. I guess we’ll have to settle for a Hipstamatic shake-to-shuffle of a guitar… again.
Today would have been my parents’ 57th wedding anniversary. Instead it is the second wedding anniversary since my mother passed away. It’s a sad day, but it’s also a happy day. I need to call my father and just tell him I love him.

Day 25 was pretty sweet. I worked on 8 songs in total. One got rhythm guitars, and seven got lead guitars. Two of those lead guitar songs also got mixed and moved into the finished songs bucket. The total count of finished songs is up to 12. Only 38 to go.
Day 26 (today) is a Monday… so back to work… which means less time for music. Here’s hoping I can still make a nice dent. There are three more days left in July (including today). Could I get the finished song count up to 20 before the month ends?
It’s been a few weeks since we’ve hit some of these marks. It feels good to be back on track.
I mixed two songs today. Listening back it is clear that they were written on the same day because they are kinda the same thing.
Except one is okay and the other isn’t really okay at all.

I went back to my guitar this afternoon. I thought my finger tips were hurting this morning. Damn, are they hurting more right now! It’s all good though. Power through the pain today and soon enough the calluses will be back and playing will be pain free once again.

Today had one of those moments. One of those sad moments that jump out of nowhere and make you sad.

I did go and visit her today. That made me feel a little better. It’s funny how that works, right?
