Mistake Corrected

Hello and welcome to week 22! The week where I did not weigh in. I weighed in yesterday. I was thinking of doing it today, but if I don’t then we’ll get an extra day when I weigh in next week and maybe that will give me a more impressive number. Or not. Who knows. As long as I keep moving in the right direction I really don’t care how fast it goes. Though in this case bigger is, if not better, more fun.
I think we may have weathered a storm at work. Fingers crossed, right?
I watched half of last week’s That Pedal Show while doing this morning’s exercise. I should have watched The Handmaid’s Tale. A new episode is out but for some reason I keep thinking new episodes come out on Thursdays, like Andor. Wait… is Andor out on Wednesdays too? Shit, is there an Andor that I haven’t seen? I gotta start writing this shit down. Ugh! Lunch is going to be an hour late today. Maybe I’ll be able to watch something during lunch, but I usually try to avoid TV during work hours.
Crap. I just checked Disney+. There is a new Andor today. Grrrrrr.
Anyway, my walking is done. I still need to do the weights and the elastic. I didn’t do them yesterday because I was too busy, but I’ll do them today.
22 weeks and 140 pounds since surgery. I still can’t believe it. It’s starting to feel like a fairy tale. Some kind of make believe. It’s almost too good to be true. My next check in at the clinic is October 18th. I wonder how much I’ll weigh when that day comes around.
I did something yesterday that I haven’t done since early 2003. I followed a UMass Lowell Riverhawks men’s ice hockey game. I say men’s ice hockey but I don’t know if Lowell has a women’s ice hockey team or not. They didn’t when I was there, but I am hopeful that they do now.
It was after the 2003 season that the athletics department tried to sell the school radio station out from under us and I swore they wouldn’t get a second thought from me until the athletic director was gone. Well, I found out not long ago that he is finally gone, and has been for a few years. He wasn’t fired though, he retired. He should have been fired. Hell, he should have been thrown in jain for trying to fuck us. Whatever, water under the bridge. I can follow my old school’s hockey team again.
Yesterday was opening day. They beat St Lawrence 4-0. I listened to most of the first period. I missed the first minute or two because Bellana and her roommates were visiting. It was 3-0 Lowell when the first period ended and Jen asked me if I wanted to watch a movie (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone). Of course I wanted to watch a movie with my love. Of course. Duh.
The Bruins season opener is in a couple of weeks. October 12th, I think. UMass Lowell doesn’t play again until next weekend. I guess I am now in a hockey black hole, though the Bruins probably have pre-season games this week. I checked, they play New Jersey on Monday and Saturday, and the Rangers on Wednesday. Good.
On an unrelated scheduling note, tonight is the start of the final segment of The Walking Dead. The first of the last eight episodes. I would like to watch it “live” but if I can’t I’ll catch up on the AMC site tomorrow before work. I’m sad that the show is ending, but also ready. It’s time. It was perfect for five-six years, then it slipped for a few years, then it came roaring back. Now let’s let it end before it slips back again. There are at least three spin offs coming, so it isn’t really ending ending, you know? It’s just changing. Still, the main show is a gem and the spin offs will never quite be the same.
I still haven’t watched this week’s Rings of Power so I need to get on that. I also haven’t watched That Pedal Show and that’s unforgivable. There’s just so much good stuff to watch. Really, anything I watch during the week right now is just me biding my time for the next episode of Andor. Did you catch that the woman who played Harry Potter’s aunt in the movies played Andor’s mother? Harry Potter and Star Wars are in the same universe: Confirmed.
Okay, I need to go make Jen some dinner. Wish me luck, folks!
I just finished the third episode of Star Wars: Andor. Here is my spoiler free review.
If you haven’t watched them yet (and I know they’ve only been out for a few hours), go watch them. Now. Do not delay.
The first two episodes were good. The third episode… I couldn’t look away. It was fantastic. Go watch them. Right now. What are you waiting for? Go watch them!
There, now you have my spoiler free review of Star Wars: Andor episodes 1-3.
Thank you.
Good night.
Scream for me Long Beach!*
*Sorry, the thank you, good night thing made me think of an Iron Maiden live record. Sorry.
This came out on Saturday and no one told me! It’s okay because now that I’ve seen it I am screaming in glee!
I am a few days late to this trailer party. When this show was announced I wasn’t really interested. Now? I can’t wait. I thought it was debuting this month, but now it’s late September. Well that sucks, even if the trailer looks awesome.
We are watching the entire Obi-Wan Kenobi series in one shot today. Think of it as a 4.5 hour movie titled Star Wars Episode 3.5.
It begs the question, what is the best light saber fight?
My usual answer is Darth Mail/Qui Gon/Obi-Wan fight in episode one. The Anakin/Obi-Wan fight in episode three is my other answer. I’ve always felt it was one of those two.
The Kylo/Rey/Snope’s guards fight in episode eight is in the ballpark too. I’ve also always had a soft spot for Luke/Vader in episode six. Those are great, but for my money it’s generally been the big two.
Now that we have the Kenobi series…. No spoilers, but it’s safe to say the big two is now the big three.
Go watch the series. It’s friggin’ amazing.
THAT WAS SO GOOD! SO GOOD! SO GOOD!!!!
Harry and I have already decided that we are going to rewatch the entire series this weekend,
SO GOOD!!!!!
Today has been a day like a kick in the balls is a warm summer breeze. I’m trying not to scream over here.
Work was nuts. I’m having issues with an insurance company. My mother has had an eventful day at her current place. Jen had a whatwhatwhat moment that I won’t discuss. Even Harry had something at work that was groan-worthy.
It’s been one of those days all around.
It’s been one of those days and I am okay with it. I’m fine and dandy.
Why?
Because episode six, the series finale(?), of Obi-Wan Kenobi is out and Harry has come over to watch it with us. Once my work day is over, in about 11 minutes or so, we’re going to take it for a spin.
Insert the ominous sound of Darth Vader breathing here.
I don’t know if this link is going to work. If it doesn’t, I’ll kill this post.
