I recorded some guitars today, which is good, but while I was doing it I missed a Richard Thompson live stream, which is bad.
Go to royalalberthall.com to watch the recording… I’m watching it now.
I just went to my first ever Richard Thompson concert. It was a Facebook Live stream and it was great. The traffic getting to the show was clear and my seats were fantastic.
He did play “Keep Your Distance” in case you are a fan and were wondering.

Richard Thompson – A Solitary Life
Richard Thompson’s Electric trio playing “White Room” by Cream.
This could have been a more accurate cover version if the drummer and bass player started throwing things at each other while the guitarist walked off stage for a smoke.
Otherwise this is awesome sauce.
I learned of two events happening in June.
Richard Thompson is apparently playing in Lowell. I haven’t checked the date on that one, so I haven’t mentioned it to my beloved wife yet. I’d like to see him live.
Also, my beautiful beloved wife just blind sided me with a request to go to a Star Trek convention. I’ve never been to one, and used to say I would never cross that geek line. Perhaps it’s time?

I haven’t watched the David Letterman show in quite a while. Does this mean Paul and the band are no longer required to play along with the musical guests or is Richard Thompson just awesome enough to allow the rules to be bent?
You call this folk music?
