Vote

We are less than a month away from the 2024 Presidential Election where We The People will once again show that fascist piece of shit that we don’t want him around anymore.

I had two questions come to mind that always come to mind just before a big election. One, what is the status of my voter registration. Two, when does the early voting period start.

Massachusetts has handy online tools to answer both questions. First, how’s my registration looking? I went here and found that I am active and all is well, as it should be.

Next, I went here and found the following early voting information:

Early Voting Periods

In-person early voting takes place during a designated early voting period, set by state law.

For statewide elections, early voting periods include guaranteed weekend voting hours for every community.

November Election Early Voting Period: October 19 – November 1

Okay, that sounds good. Now that I knew the dates involved I went to my city’s website to get specifics and found this:

There you have it. If you, like me, live in Methuen, MA… you’re welcome.

Film

All right, red head. It’s time to get off your ass and shoot some film. Enough procrastinating. Enough saying you’re going to do stuff and then don’t. Damn it!

I have four rolls of film ready to develop. Most of it is from our Disney trip back in May/June. There are a couple of shots that are actually from Fathers Day and they are likely the last pictures I will ever have of my dad. It’s time to get the friggin’ things developed.

But…

I have a roll in my Nikon that is nearly finished. I should shoot the rest of that first and then get five rolls developed, right? I also have a roll in my Pentax. I should shoot through that and then get all six developed, right? Right?

Damn it! I am procrastinating around my procrastination! Get off your faux-photographer ass, red head!

Sunrise at the ocean tomorrow is 6:47am and the forecast calls for mostly clear skies. That does it. I’m going pitcher shootin’ tomorrow. Go to the ocean, bang out the roll in the Nikon, take some digitals, come down the coast to the usual places like the Plum Island light house and bang through the roll in the Pentax along with some more digitals. Then if I still have film left, hit a few places in my town and work through the rest of it.

I am working in the office on Monday so I won’t be able to get to the post office. Tuesday I am working at home though, so by Tuesday morning we’ll have an order placed at some photo lab and I’ll drop everything off for shipping before work.

I have spoken. Make it so. This is the way.

In closing, here’s a shot of the Spicket Falls Damn in Methuen that I shot on Kentmere 100 film with my Nikon FG-20. Just because film is cool in a nerdy retro faux artistic bullshit way.

Clock

No car music today but I did drive past the downtown clock so that’s nice.

22/365

I’m going back to my dad’s place today. Just for a few minutes. I need to pick up a few things. Other than that? Who knows. It’s the last day of vacation and the first day of Fall. That’s the story.

Out and About

Got a haircut. It was inexpensive and I got what I paid for. As usual.

I declared that today will be a sugar free bakery cookie day. Probably just before bed.

Also, for schnitzengiggles, the downtown clock. Why not?

And a bonus clock because I was stopped at the light.

Another Day, Another Car Music

For the second day in a row I packed my laptop, a microphone, some headphones, and a little USB audio interface into the car, drove off to a mostly empty parking lot in a not-yet-opened-for-the-day movie theater and sang my brains out.

Now… if only I didn’t suck so badly as a singer. Oh well.

I had five songs ready for vocals tracking and I picked them all off. I now have 10 songs with vocals complete. Only 40 more to go. Thanks to the 50 songs in 90 days challenge, of course. What a mess.

Here is the view from my state of the art recording studio. Fascinating.

And here is the almost but not quite obligatory photo of the clock downtown.

Again, fascinating.

Driving Around

I had to go to a Fed Ex office, the grocery store, Lowe’s, and Home Depot. Success on all fronts. Everything that needed to be returned has been returned, and everything that needed to be picked up has been picked up… and I treated myself to stop at the sugar free bakery.

Picture, please? Okay.

Errands

I snuck out for some errands this morning before the work crew got here. I drove around town to a Home Depot and a Lowe’s, prepping for phase two which starts tomorrow.

How about some pics from the road?

The clock, of course
I saw two of these Merrimack Valley transit buses

So what was input getting? Wall tiles, adhesive, grout, and paint. There is still so much to do, even though they are miles ahead of where I thought they would be.

Tiles and touch ups tomorrow.
