  • Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings
  • Spider-Man: No Way Home

So I watched The Incredible Hulk today. Like I mentioned before, most people don’t like that movie, but I do. Remember that Eric Bana played Bruce Banner in the first Hulk movie. Mark Ruffalo plays him in the Avengers movies. They are both great and I will never say a bad word about either of them… but to my untrained eye, Edward Norton just blows them both out of the water as far as acting goes. Yes, I may be basing that on American History X and Fight Club more than on playing Bruce Banner, but really… it’s Edward freakin’ Norton. That guy could probably play a dust bunny and make it absolutely riveting.

Up next is Iron Man 2, and then Thor. Thor was the MCU character that interested me the least. Then they made Ragnarok. Then they made him fat. Now he’s awesome. What I didn’t know was that the comics that Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, and Thor were based on (in part, at least?) were from the same series, and they all take place within a few days of each other. I learned that when the What If? show referenced all three of them in the same episode. How cool is that?

Okay. I am finishing packing up for the drive to work tomorrow, then I want to try and watch MoonKight episode two. Looks like I am going to be awake until after midnight again. I really have to stop doing this crap this late at night.

More Changes Coming Today

Are you sick of hearing about our home improvement odyssey? Would it bore you to hear that the drywall guy is coming today to start walling up our cellar? Drywall->paint->flooring->finishing->furniture. That’s the to do list as it stands now. I’m sure you’re sick of hearing it.

Are you also sick of hearing that I am watching Marvel movies? I bet you’re all really sick of that one. Fed up, indeed. Turns out The Incredible Hulk is on HBO Max. I’m sneaking in the first 20 minutes before I have to sign in to work. Bore-ing, am I right?

At least I am not boring you all with guitar playing posts, right? You’ve got that going for you. I haven’t played at all since March 19th. That was 18 days ago. I need to play.

Okay. Time to punch in to work. Here’s hoping the stress level goes down a notch today. Fingers eternally crossed.

It’s quarter past ten on Monday night and I still feel like shit from yesterday’s Covid-19 booster shot. I think I might be running a slight fever. That’s to be expected though. Actually, I think I was running a fever but may have just broke. I am suddenly covered in cold sweat. That’s good, right?

So I watched two Marvel movies today. Jen looked at the list and said she’d watch Iron Man with me. That should happen tomorrow night. Wednesday will be MoonKight episode two, and Thursday will be Picard episode… five? Four? I forget. Friday will likely be That Pedal Show. That means the furious start to the Marvel rewatch is probably going to slow down soon.

That’s okay I only have 2496709743609273460 hours of Marvel movies to go, and we haven’t even thought about including the TV shows yet.

Also, just for the record, the Bruins beat Columbus tonight. Joe Haggerty had this to say:

Yes, it’s going to be a fun last few weeks.

I’m Going to Do It… MCU Rewatch

Remember the last thing I posted? Where I said I may never know if I am tired or having a reaction to my second Covid booster shot?

Wrong. It’s totally the booster shot. Color my ass kicked. I feel like cow dung.

At some point in the future I may want to blame what I am going to say next on feeling wiped out right now.

I’m doing it. I’m going to do a Marvel Cinematic Universe Chronological Rewatch. I got a list here. Allow me to share:

  • Captain America: The First Avenger
  • Captain Marvel
  • Iron Man
  • The Incredible Hulk
  • Iron Man 2

Watch out Disney+ (and also HBO Max for The Hulk and iTunes for No Way Home [for now])… Here I come!

Television

I watched the first episode of MoonKnight. No need to worry about spoiling me. I mean, as we all know, the internet is all about me. I’m clear.

I am not clear on Star Trek Picard though. Granted, the episode doesn’t come out for another three hours or so. Usually I’d watch it before work, but like a doofus I started going into the office on Thursdays, which means I can’t watch the episode until after work.

There is so much good TV on right now. So much nerd stuff to nerd out on. Comic book TV shows. Star Trek. It’s getting hard to keep up with everything. I haven’t watched a single episode of this run of The Flash.

Okay. The alarm is going to go off in four hours and 50 minutes. I should probably go to sleep.

My Step Son is Good People

We have gotten into the routine of watching Marvel and Star Wars shows on Disney+ with my step son. If he’s home we watch together. If he’s away at school we have watch parties so we can watch together. I love it. I love being able to share my fanboy geekdom with him.

The other day we had a FaceTime call with him and I asked if we were going to watch MoonKnight together. Yup. We made a tentative plan to watch the first episode tonight at around 8:00pm and we were good to go.

Today he sent us a text. He wanted to know if it was okay if he watched MoonKnight with his friends. He said they were excited to watch it too and he wanted to know if we would be okay with it if he watched it with them.

19 years old and he wants to make sure it’s okay if he watched a TV show with someone else. Correct me if I am wrong, but he is the single nicest person ever. My step son, Harry, is just good people. Through and through.

Of course it’s okay if you watch with your friends! Jen said that it just means we’ll have to talk about the series when he gets home. I forwarded that along in the text thread and he agreed. We’ll deconstruct the shit out of it. Then he added that we’ll be watching Ms Marvel as we do it.

Yeah, we will!

Harry is good people.

Fanboy Weekend

The last two episodes of The Book of Boba Fett have been so good that I have had Star Wars on the brain for days. This weekend, while I should have been doing more productive things, I have watched the whole sequel trilogy. I didn’t mean to. I was just in that mood, you know? On Friday night I just went over to the Disney+ and popped on Rise of Skywalker. It turned my nerd up to 11. Yesterday I did the same with The Last Jedi. A little while ago I put on The Force Awakens. It’s on right now. FN2187 just got chewed out by Captain Phasma.

So yeah, I watched them in reverse order. So what? You wanna make something out of it?

The Book of Boba Fett ends on Wednesday. Then what? Star Trek Picard comes back in early March. The next Marvel series comes out in late March, I think. When do the zombies come back? Oh Google? The second part of the three part 11th season of The Walking Dead comes back on February 20th. So why not watch me some Star Wars, even if it is in reverse order? Maybe next weekend I’ll start a Marvel rewatch. It probably won’t be in reverse order though.

Think I can blow through the whole MCU in one weekend?

Moon Knight – The Next Marvel TV Show

I know nothing about this except that this video says it is coming to Disney+ on March 30th.

So the Eternals has half of the cast of Game of Thrones. Now Marvel is grabbing an actor from Star Wars. Nothing wrong with any of that except for the whole identity crisis thing. I mean, while watching Eternals I kept wanting Robb Stark and Jon Snow to team up. They didn’t have an actual opportunity for that back in Westeros. Jon moved out of the house before things went nuts and Robb was left holding the bag, you know?

Now, how long before Mr. Moon Knight (yes, that was a sad attempt at a Beatles pun) calls up Rey and Finn and starts asking for help with the bad guys?

Seriously, I have been really pleased with all of the Marvel TV shows on Disney+. Even though I know nothing about this character, I am looking forward to it.
