Records

Yesterday I started listening to every Rush record I own on vinyl, in release order. I have everything up to 1987, after which they stopped releasing their music on vinyl (in large quantities at least). I have a couple of 21st century releases from when vinyl became a thing again. I’m in the office today so I won’t be playing that game again until tomorrow. I did take some Hipstamatic Shake to Shuffle style pics while I was packing up my laptop. Just because.

I’m not one of those people who thinks that vinyl is some magical thing. I just like the vibe. I also like having my father’s record player in my work from home space. It’s nice. I’ll start the Rush thing over again tomorrow at the start of the work day. It’s like having a big playlist from a streaming service except that I have to keep flipping the records.

Monday

It’s Monday and I am not happy about it. I’m in the office today. Boo. I am dealing with a little lingering after effect of Friday’s stomach issues. I will not describe because it’s super TMI stuff and it’s not anything bad. I don’t feel sick, I just feel… uncomfortable. Other than that, everything is okay.

Well… everything is okay except that it is Monday and the weekend is over and that makes me sad. I did get to watch the new Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon show this morning while doing my jogging (pronounced “yogging”) in place this morning. I also spent a few minutes with my little dumbbell set… the way my doctor suggested I should… over a year ago… and I never do. How many times do you need to do something before it becomes a habit? Is it three? Is it three million? Curling that little dumbbell thing, that needs to become a habit.

Anyway, this Walking Dead fanboy/apologist enjoyed the new episode and is looking forward to next week.

I’m not sure where I am going with this post. I’m running a utility at work right now and just watching the numbers flip by on the screen and I’m writing this to fill up space while I wait for the utility to complete. That’s the point of this post. I guess. What was I talking about?

Here’s today’s photo a day thing:

30/365

I don’t know what else to write about now. Maybe I’ll come up with something at lunch. We’ll see.

I wish I was working from home today. Don’t we all?

Tracking is Done (Again)

I think it was at some point last week when I declared that tracking was done for the 50/90 Challenge. Then I added four more songs because I’m a doofus. Now today, once again, I am declaring that tracking for the 50/90 challenge is done.

I put all guitars onto two songs that I started writing yesterday. They both got vocals earlier this morning and now every song I’ve come up with for this stupid internet songwriting challenge has had all of the parts recorded on their individual demoes. Hallelujah, Holy Shit.

I am now left with seven songs to mix. If I finish them all before Tuesday then I will finish the 50 songs in 90 days challenge with 57 songs… again, because I am a doofus.
