Patches the cat is super happy that the kids are home. Can’t you tell?

We left our Christmas lights from last year hung up along the edge of the roof. A few weeks ago I noticed a spot near the end of the string where it was broken. Crap. I guess we have to replace them this year.
That’s where things started getting weird. The lights were wrapped around the railings next to the stairs leading up to our two front doors. Strangely, the wires have been broken all over the railings and all of the bulbs are gone. What the hell?
Now there are 3-4 places along the edge of the roof where the strand has been broken, and again many of the bulbs are gone.
Over the last week or so I have started seeing bulbs in random places in the yard. Once I saw three of them in the back yard next to the house. For reference, we didn’t hang any lights on the back of the house. Today if you were to look in the same spot, all three bulbs are gone.
There is, however, a bulb on the fire pit, and other bulbs in random places in the back or on the sides of the house, nowhere near where the lights were hung.
So there are two questions to ask. First, which critters are chewing the lights off of our house, and two, if I put up new lights are the same critters going to chew through those as well?

There is a webcam on my desk that I use for conference calls. The bed is in the field of view so I make it all neat like on work days.
Patches isn’t sure how to deal with the lack of messed up blankets. There’s isn’t a place for her to curl up or hide or anything. I always make things so difficult for her.

Jen’s latest dinner creation has a secret ingredient.

48 hours, squirrel damage-free.

WOOHOO!!
There is no reason to post this, but here I go anyway…
It’s almost bedtime, but I think I might try to mix a tune. Stay tuned. (See what I did there? Ain’t I a stinker?)
I don’t think Patches has ever let me watch her drink from her water bowl before. I never noticed how she sort of laps against the side of the bowl. Do all cats do that or is ours just some kind of evolutionary super cat?

I worked on some November music today. I started a new song, which is just rhythm guitars and a drum loop so far, added rhythm guitar to one song and leads to two. There’s one semi-proggie song in the pipeline that I am hoping will come out okay when it’s done. Fingers crossed, right?
The job is done! We have a little shed-like contraption to store our trash barrels in. Well… two of our trash barrels at least. I was hoping this would be a tad bigger than it is, but it’s perfect for the two barrels we actually use.
I’m going to set the over/under for how long it takes the squirrels to gnaw their way into it at 12 hours.
