That was Tough

The point of this blog is to bear my soul to the universe (no it’s not, there literally is no point to any of this) but how can I accurately do that without sharing any specific details about the current situation?

Let’s just say that it was tough today. I was at the hospital with him for a smidge more than five hours. Most of that time was quiet and uneventful. The rest? Yikes.

Being there was tough for me. I can’t even imagine how tough it was for my father who actually experienced everything.

I’m home now with my wife and my step daughter. We’re watching The Fall Guy and I’m trying not to stress over things.

Idiot

On my way to visit my father in the hospital today I came across the dumbest human I’ve ever had contact with.

She was driving the wrong way on the highway. To borrow an old South Park catchphrase, she was literally COMING RIGHT FOR US! She slammed on her breaks and did a three point turn in the middle of the VFW highway in Lowell.

Ready for the irony? I passed her, swearing at her vehemently, as she well deserved, and a couple miles later she pulled into the hospital parking garage with me. Let’s hope she checked herself in for whatever problem resulted in her driving on the wrong side of a divided highway.

Un-freakin’-believable.

Dizzying Day

The funeral was lovely. I went to a post-funeral lunch and it was nice.

I then went to the hospital and within minutes of arriving my father was moved to a new room and I had to run out to help with something that suddenly came up at home.

It has been an insane day and it’s going to continue to be insane for the foreseeable future. My step daughter is here though, so that’s good news.

2024 50/90 Challenge Day 43/90

Day 43 was a bit better than the nothing on day 42. I added one new song idea, which is just a bass riff or two, bringing the current count up to 39. I also mixed a song that doesn’t completely suck. That was nice.
