Not a Good Look

I’m watching today’s new episode of Star Trek Picard. I’m only about halfway through, and I won’t spoil anything but…

The musical number will likely rocket this episode to the bottom of most peoples’ rank list.

Not a good look, Star Trek. Bad choice.

It’s quarter past ten on Monday night and I still feel like shit from yesterday’s Covid-19 booster shot. I think I might be running a slight fever. That’s to be expected though. Actually, I think I was running a fever but may have just broke. I am suddenly covered in cold sweat. That’s good, right?

So I watched two Marvel movies today. Jen looked at the list and said she’d watch Iron Man with me. That should happen tomorrow night. Wednesday will be MoonKight episode two, and Thursday will be Picard episode… five? Four? I forget. Friday will likely be That Pedal Show. That means the furious start to the Marvel rewatch is probably going to slow down soon.

That’s okay I only have 2496709743609273460 hours of Marvel movies to go, and we haven’t even thought about including the TV shows yet.

Also, just for the record, the Bruins beat Columbus tonight. Joe Haggerty had this to say:

Yes, it’s going to be a fun last few weeks.

Sunday Night Pain

Rob’s writing about pain on a Sunday night. Why? Is he watching Fear the Walking Dead or something? No. That’s not for a couple of weeks. We are still safe.

No, I’m talking about exercise. I still have 24 minutes to do today and I only have 2.5 hours left. My legs are killing me. My back is killing me. Everything is killing me.

Fear isn’t on, but the main show is on. Shits getting weird at the Commonwealth, right? There is 25 minutes left in tonight’s show so I can probably finish my 24 minutes of exercise during the commercial breaks. Har Har Har.

Work was rough on Friday. It spilled over into Saturday. I didn’t hear anything today. Hopefully nothing happened. I’m out tomorrow because I’m taking my mother to a doctor’s appointment. That means I’m worried about work and worried about her at the same time. It could be a fun morning, right?

I don’t feel any negative effects of Covid-19 vax shot #4. Here’s hoping it stays that way.

Okay, the Zombies are back on. No spoilers, but who woulda thought that Daryl was Rick’s father. What a twist!

Television

I watched the first episode of MoonKnight. No need to worry about spoiling me. I mean, as we all know, the internet is all about me. I’m clear.

I am not clear on Star Trek Picard though. Granted, the episode doesn’t come out for another three hours or so. Usually I’d watch it before work, but like a doofus I started going into the office on Thursdays, which means I can’t watch the episode until after work.

There is so much good TV on right now. So much nerd stuff to nerd out on. Comic book TV shows. Star Trek. It’s getting hard to keep up with everything. I haven’t watched a single episode of this run of The Flash.

Okay. The alarm is going to go off in four hours and 50 minutes. I should probably go to sleep.

Oscars Poll

I didn’t watch the Oscars. I don’t think I’ve tortured myself that way in decades. I’d seriously rather watch Fear the Walking Dead.

I did see, via the Twitter, that there was an incident of some kind. If you saw it, even on instant replay, please answer the poll and let me know what actually happened, m’kay?

Perfect Week

With all the work around the house we did this weekend, and all the pain and soreness and exhaustion that went with it, this weekend’s exercise rings were the hardest to close I’ve done yet. Ouch.

Tonight’s episode of The Walking Dead was really excellent though. That helped a lot.

In the Office

For the third time this month, I am in the office. I hit a little bit of traffic on route 93 South before I even got out of town, but after that it was mostly smooth sailing. Mostly.

I had said that the kitchen redesign was done as far as outside help was concerned, but we came in under budget and decided to do another small thing or two. We’re still waiting on the pre-fab furniture deliveries and the big stuff isn’t coming until next week. Jen and I will put together whatever we have over the weekend and try to keep our wits about us while waiting for the rest.

So far everything looks great. We are both really thrilled. I keep saying this to anyone who will listen, but when we moved into the house in 2010 I said the first thing we needed to upgrade was the walls in the dining room and the kitchen. The paneling and the wallpaper border had to go. 12 years, a redone bathroom, and a garage turned into a bedroom suite, not to mention new furniture and floor plans in literally every room in the house, and we finally get to the paneling and the wallpaper border. I gotta say, it feels great.

I managed to watch Star Trek Picard last night so you can feel free to discuss it with me in a spoiler-heavy manner. I mean, Picard is Q’s father? Who knew!?

Don’t Spoil Me

I could have watched the new episode of Star Trek Picard this morning but I chose to do other things, like clean up some of the stuff that was displaced for the kitchen/dining room fix up. We had these huge ass canvas tarps covering the furniture. That had to go somewhere. There are so many cardboard boxes everywhere from ordering new pre-fab stuff.

I took some time to straighten a couple of little places up. That’s why you can’t tell me what happened in Star Trek Picard season two episode four. I expect I’ll get to it before I sleep tonight though so it won’t be too long before you can talk to me about all of it.

The last contractor is here. Hopefully we’re just minutes away from having a kitchen again. I hope so because not having a dishwasher or a kitchen sink has been a kick in the nads, I tells ya.

Calm Down

Given the hectic nature of the last two weeks, it is almost unsettling to have a Saturday with nothing going on. I started work on two songs for Record Every Month. I watched a Star Trek Discovery episode, and I am about to start a second.

Jen and I have talked over some plans for redesigning the rest of the kitchen and the dining room. We were thinking of going to IKEA tonight but the idea of the crowds and the Covid risk and what not is steering us away. We might try to go shortly before close on a weeknight this week to cut down on the human interactions.

I am going to play guitar today. Bank on it.

That’s Better

Wednesday night’s awful sleep combined with a tough day at work combined with the Covid stress of going to the office left me a bit of a mess last night. I managed to pull off the rest of the exercise ring but I’m not exactly sure how. I was toast.

Last night’s sleep was better. I went to bed around 10:30. I woke up a little after 4:00 to go to the bathroom and my watch didn’t register any sleep after that. I know I slept more but maybe it was really light? I don’t know. What my watch did register was almost all restful sleep including one stretch that lasted over an hour. I don’t feel great this morning, but I do feel better than I did yesterday.

Bad sleep blows.

The contractor we’ve had working on the kitchen and dining room expects to finish the painting tonight. I am so happy with the way it’s going. It looks great so far. He’ll have to come back next week for the finishing work but that’s a-ok with me.

For me right now, Star Trek Picard season two episode three. I have about 10 minutes to go. Good stuff so far.
