Antique Store Wrap Up

I mentioned that we went to an antique store yesterday. I was hoping to maybe find some old camera gear. I saw a grand total of four cameras. One was digital so it doesn’t count. One was a Ricoh film camera that looked like it was probably from the 1990’s. I didn’t know anything about it so I passed. There were two really old cameras. The Kodak Autographic Jr that I posted yesterday. I was really interested in that one but I wanted to dig into it a bit first. That was a good move. They don’t make the film it uses anymore. Bummer. You can get adapters that let you use 120 film but that is a smidge above my interest level at this point. The fourth camera was a Kodak Brownie from the 1950’s that was interesting too, but looking into that told me what I was already pretty sure of. They don’t make the film that camera uses either. Oh well. Maybe next time.

There was this though…

That would look fantastic in our living room, don’t you think?

We don’t go to Lawrence, MA often. It has a reputation for being a rough place and we tend to just not go there. We spent an hour or so in town today though and Jen spotted this really groovy little place. I have no idea what it is or what it means but I like it.

Antiques

We went to an antique store in Lawrence, MA today. I was looking for camera gear and not expecting to find anything.

I was right that there wasn’t much to see, but I did see one that has me super intrigued.

$79 seems way too much for this, but I am going to spend some time on the YouTube doing some research and maybe I might go back again. Folding cameras from pre-war are sort of what I was thinking of for my first step into the medium format world.

We’ll see.

Cause and Effect

Before work this morning, I went outside and topped off the bird feeders.

The full bird feeders lead to this…

And this…

(I hope you enjoy the glimpse into my food tracking spreadsheet. Protein bars for breakfast, as usual)

Co Workers

Lily Pad the cat joined me for one of my conference calls today. She sat on my desk for a couple of minutes. When she walked away her tail was caught on camera. Other than that, no one noticed her.

Robin Sparkles the cat also joined me for work today, but not during any meetings. I was able to snag a couple of photos of her last visit.

There are only 26 minutes left in the work day, so if Lily wants to pose for a work day photo she’d better hurry up and come back.

Backyard Violence

I just saw some backyard wild kingdom violence. Well… it was mostly over by the time I looked outside, but I saw a little of the aftermath.

I have the window open in my home office room. I heard a bang outside followed by lots of angry bird noise. I looked outside and…

…right in front of my window was a hawk standing on the ground eating a fresh kill. I think the fresh kill was a sparrow. It was tough to say. I thought maybe a chipmunk at first but it was definitely a small bird. I reached for my phone to take a picture but the hawk and it’s lunch flew away into the woods.

I guess we’ll have to settle for a cat photo as my photo a day shot.

This was taken before the murder. Robin had left by the time the horror went down.
