Bedtime

My mother was asleep by 9:00 tonight. Thank goodness. There was no pain outbreak. Now we just have to hope she sleeps through the night.

One of the mouse traps was tripped about an hour ago. Nothing in it. There is still at least one Mickey among us. Great. I paid for a single but I guess I have a roommate.

I’m going to sleep. Fingers crossed I can get 6-7 hours of good sleep. Yippee.

Smoke Alarm

I went to sleep at 11:00. At 1:00 the smoke alarm in the hall outside of our room went off. It blared about three times and then it stopped. I spent 10 minutes wandering the house trying to see if there was anything going on and then it went off again. 3-4 beeps and then it stopped. I took it down, blew some air into it to try and dislodge any dust or whatever, and sat up until 2:00 to see if it would go off again. It didn’t. It’s 8:24 and it still hasn’t.

What’s up, smoke alarm? You just messing with us?

Litter box changed
Trash taken out to the street
Lake Asshole in the cellar vacuumed up
The dehumidifier in the cellar emptied
The wet vac that cleared up Lake Asshole emptied
The first of probably two loads of laundry started

30 minutes until I punch in to work. It’s a nana sitting night so I need to get all my shit together before the work day ends. I’m still super sweaty from the Lake Asshole experience. I should have taken a vacation day today. Then again, I kinda wish I could take a vacation day everyday but what can you do, right?

Meaningless Stuff

I know this is completely meaningless given the shit state of everything else happening in my personal hell of a universe but I’m trying to finish season seven of The Flash and I have a question for the Berlantiverse.

Is Flash season seven episode 16 supposed to be a back door pilot for a Green Lantern show? I’d be down with that.

Okay, back to our regularly schedule shit show.

Memory

This morning my mother asked me how I was doing. I said I was really tired. She asked why. I said because I stayed up to make sure you got to sleep and you didn’t fall asleep until 2:00am. I barely got four hours of sleep.

She had no memory of it. She went to bed at 2:00 and got up and made breakfast at about 5:00. She had no idea. She’s already fallen asleep twice since then.

I don’t know how my father did this for the last 10 years. It’s frustrating and infuriating and she has no idea she’s doing it and how can you get mad over something that’s essentially unconscious? Ugh.

Still Awake

1:41am and she’s just getting into bed now.

I told her it was 1:30 and past her bed time. She said 8:00 is her bed time.

Yup. 5.5 hours ago.

She said I should turn off the TV and go to bed. Ya think? That’s when she realized she couldn’t find her TV remote and we spent 10 minutes looking for it.

I really need to scream, but if I do she’ll never go to sleep.

Meeces to Pieces

I know a lot of people will be offended by this one. I apologize. I mean no offense, but I am also not sorry so… sorry.

Look back two posts ago. See that picture? Can you guess where this one is going?

My mother saw a furry little rodent critter today. It came out from under her dresser, ran a while along the length of it, and then ducked under again. My brother asked me to pick up some traps on the way over.

As mentioned in the previous post, the secret is peanut butter. I set one up and slid it onto a spatula and gently placed it under the hospital bed in the living room. No problem. Then I went to setup a second trap and it went off on me three friggin’ times before I could get it onto the spatula, then it went off again when I gently placed it on the floor behind the comfy chair. One more try and I finally got it down. Then I baited a third trap and put it under my mother’s dresser, near where she saw one earlier.

I think that was at about 8:45 or so. Maybe a little earlier, but about then. The trap under the comfy chair went off at 9:30. I figured it was just touchy because that was the bastard that gave me all the trouble.

Nope.

Rest in peace, you little home invading rodent fucker. Meeces to Pieces, indeed.
