I forget what I called my new get-well-soon-bunny the other day, but the actual name is PatchRabbit.
You heard it here first.

Chicken broth. Seems to be working better than anything else right now.
I’m probably going to hit it pretty hard going forward.

Hey, I bet you all thought I forgot about this. Not when I’m so close to finishing!
Here is The Great 2022 Marvel Cinematic Universe Chronological Rewatch of 2022 Update:
It took me four sittings to get through Eternals. I don’t think it’s a bad movie, I just can’t really get invested in any of it. I just didn’t care. I wonder if they ever make an Eternals 2 (which the ending of the movie strongly suggests), would that make this movie more interesting? I can’t even guess. I just feel odd seeing Robb Stark and Jon Snow. The last time I saw them, Jon ended up on Robb’s throne. This time, Jon ends up with Robb’s girl. It’s just weird.
Up next is Shang-Chi. I enjoyed this one a lot the first time I watched it. This time, I can’t help but fear that I am going to see it as just standing in the way of No Way Home. I’m sure it will be fine. I’ll probably start watching it after I heat up a bowl of chicken broth. Mmm mmm good!
Oh yeah, I technically need to add Doctor Strange 2 to the end of the list as it’s out in theaters now. I am not going to include it on this rewatch though as there is no way in hell I am going to a theater. I thought about buying a ticket and then pirating it, but I think this time around I want to be a good boy. Surgical karma and shit, you know?
Every time I turn around, Bertha the plant clipping has a new branch growing. I’m so proud of her!

Sure, Patches is my emotional support cat, but as soon as I mentioned that a couple of the incision spots might be starting to get itchy a bit she just checked out.

Today is not just Mothers Day. It’s also my birthday. 51 years young and all that bullshit.
No real birthday celebrations this year. Just liquids, protein shakes, and lots of intake tracking.
Also, I’ve spent the whole day with Jen, so it’s the best birthday ever.
When I was a kid I used to feel gypped when my birthday fell on Mother’s Day. This year I have bigger fish to fry.
Jen is making dinner. For herself. One of my fears going into weight loss surgery was guilt at putting a burden on Jen. I’m feeling quite a bit of that today. She is so encouraging and supportive and I don’t want to make things difficult for her.
I guess the point of this post is that I hope you’re all having a good day on my birthday. Do something fun for me.

The Bruins and the Whalers are playing game four at this very moment. We are losing 2-1 in the second period.
Remember the other day when I wrote a post telling the Bruins they needed to step it up and win game three?
This is me doing it again. Come on, Bruins, let’s pick it up.
Go Bruins!
ADDENDUM: The Bruins scored! It’s tied at two after two periods. Keep it up, Bruins!
ADDENDUM 2: The Bruins won 5-2 and tied the series at two games a piece. You’re welcome, Bruins fans.
It’s Mother’s Day in the US today. I want to wish a happy day to all the moms out there. Especially to my sister and sister in law and mother in law and friends and cousins and coworkers. All of the people who are important to me.
Extra special wishes go to the two most important moms in my life. First my mother, without whom you wouldn’t be reading this… literally. Happy Mother’s Day, mom.

The other most important mom is, of course, my beloved wife, without whom I would not have had the joys of seeing a brilliant woman give her all for her children from the adult point of view. Happy Mother’s Day, Jen.

Everything in Lowell is the same as I remember it, but also totally different.

My first attempt at a protein shake, post surgery.

It’s just four ounces, and the Lowell Devils glass is just for moral support.
