Last Day Before Windows

The window replacement team is coming tomorrow. Today is the last day to get the house ready for them. Can I get it all done?

You bet your sweet ass I can.

The kitchen, dining room, and living room are all set. The entire exterior of the house is all set too. Today I’ll handle the bathroom, the bedroom, and Jen’s office. Beyond that, all I need to do is go to the pet store and pick up a huge bag of cat food, and maybe go somewhere to replace Jen’s coffee maker. Before I do anything I’ll need to finish breakfast (one serving of Brown and Serve frozen sausages. Yummy. Also, I need to finish watching the final episode of Star Wars Rebels. 19 minutes to go. I am a little embarrassed by how quickly I burned through this four season rewatch. Like… it’s alarming how nerdy I am.

One small change to the music project plan that I hope to work on over the next couple of days. I was going to use my Keeley Super Phat Mod overdrive pedal (which is a clone of a modified Boss Blues Driver) but I was just looking at the little pile of gear next to my desk and I saw my Ibanez Tube Screamer Mini pedal sitting there and I decided to use that puppy instead. I think I am going to use the Gibson SG for all of this too. SG->Tube Screamer->Vox MV50. That’s a signal chain that’s made up of all things that aren’t usual go to’s. Next month will be Les Paul->King of Tone->Deluxe Reverb and that signal chain could be worthy of gigs. We’ll see.

Right. The Rebels finale has reached the Deus Ex Machina moment. I know I’ve watched this before but I have zero memory of it. Weird. It’s almost time to get to work. The bedroom and the office are going to suck, but I’ll get it done.

Windows tomorrow. I’m really looking forward to all of this being finished.

Don’t Stick Your Tongue Out at Me

There was about a 10 minute stretch today when Robin had her tongue out while trying to go to sleep. It lasted so long that I was afraid there was something wrong. She sat up, yawned, and put her tongue away. She was purring the whole time. I guess there wasn’t anything wrong then.

Back Yard Fun

Bird house number one is hanging in the front of the house. No tenants yet. Bird house number two was hung on a baby pine tree this morning.

Bird house number three was hung on the tree right outside the bedroom door, which is also the first tree in the yard to start coming alive. Green!

Finally, for now at least, the bird feeders are full. It’s Spring, babie! Enjoy!

Milk Run

I went grocery shopping last night but forgot to get milk. I had to make a run this morning. Downtown photos were taken.

The plan for today is to do as much prep for the window project as possible. Inside and outside. Anything that doesn’t get completed today gets completed tomorrow. The house will be ready. It’s also my dad’s birthday. I want to pay him a visit at some point.

In closing… cat in the bath tub? What the??

Shutters

If you’ve ever wondered what my house would look like without shutters, here you go…

Our window replacement project is scheduled to begin on Monday. This weekend will see us doing all of the prep work. The short length of the neurosurgeon appointment today allowed me to get a minor jump start. The shutters are down, most of them broke in the process, and the Christmas lights are down too. I still have a couple of things to do outside, but the big project is going to be clearing the space around the windows inside.

More Imaging to Come

The spot in my brain MRI is probably just a cluster of blood cells. It doesn’t look like a cancerous tumor but we will need more imaging to know for sure. I’m going to have an MRI with contrast and a CT scan at some point in the near future. I’m just waiting for my health insurance to approve the orders. I’ll also need to do follow ups in the future to make sure the spot isn’t growing.

The diagnosis also includes that this likely has nothing to do with the migraines. That means I have to meet with the neurologist at some point in the near future too. The whole point of this was figuring out the migraines after all.

So now you all can look forward to more boring, obnoxious posts about my teeny tiny little brain. Fun fun fun, kiddies.
