Happy Birthday, Dad

Today is my father’s birthday. The first since he passed away last summer. I’m going to be sad today. I think that’s a given. When I was really little we used to watch reruns of Star Trek together (even though it often gave me nightmares). I’m watching Star Trek right now. Just because.

It’s also tax day in the united states. Your income tax return forms are due today. My father had a tax prep business. Tax day falling on his birthday was a sign somehow. These days my brother is a CPA so tax day is a big deal for him too. In that spirit, allow me to wish all accountants and bookkeepers a Happy Tax Day in honor of my father and my brother and also my mother who used to help with Dad’s tax business. Get through today and then you’re free until January. Sort of. I know you’re never truly finished with tax season. There’s always something more to work on.

How Do We Make it Happen?

How do we make this happen? Do the Governors need to start the conversation at the state level? Do the senators and representatives need to start the conversation at the federal level? What do we need to do?

New England, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, Washington, Oregon, and California. The United Atlantic and Pacific States. Negotiate permission to travel across the continent through Canada and then secede. With each new day secession becomes more and more inevitable.

Enough is Enough

It is time to stop fucking around and start a serious discussion about secession.

Not only will they not return someone who was incorrectly deported to a concentration camp in El Salvador, but now the so-called president is planning to start deporting US citizens to the same gulag.

In addition to deporting alleged Venezuelan gang members, Trump and several officials have floated sending U.S. citizens convicted of violent crimes to the infamous El Salvador prison or other foreign prisons — something legal experts have said would violate the Constitution.

“I’m all for it,” Trump said of the idea on Monday.

“If it’s a homegrown criminal, I have no problem. Now we’re studying the laws right now … If we can do that, that’s good,” Trump said.

On Hold

I am trying to renew my passport before I have to fly to Florida this summer. I’ve been on hold with their help line for 10 minutes. I have a meeting 70 minutes from now. Do you think I will still be on hold when the meeting starts?

Something tells me I will be. Government efficiency and all that crap, right?

I was just about to publish this when my call was forwarded to a voicemail and hung up. Oh good. I guess I can start that on-hold clock again.

Yippee.

I Think We’re On

As of this moment, band practice is on for 6:00pm tonight. I’m swapping out my amp and my pedals so I have a bunch of things to test drive before I go. I might put new strings on one of the guitars while I’m at it. I have to clean the kitchen first though.

If I knew that I was going to be modeling in a photo shoot today I would have not worn a baseball hat and given myself some quality hat-head.

Explain? Okay. I had a couple of passport photos taken at the AAA office in Salem, NH today. Strike a pose and pout.

But coming and going to and from where? In this specific case it was the post office. I mailed some important stuff for my wife and one absolutely not important thing for me. What was the thing? Film. Seven rolls of 35mm film has been sent off to the lab for developing. Get ready for insufferable Robbie to rear his very ugly head.
