Food Fun

My staff and I just went out for a group lunch. I ate too fast. It was really good and I got carried away so now my gastric bypass surgery’d stomach is complaining. I am dumb. I am bad at following directions. I am bad at eating in this new stomach pouch kind of world.

Oh well.

Here’s my photo a day challenge pic for today. I took it just after I finished my morning exercise at around 6:00am today. It might end up being the cover of Quarantine Tunes Volume Eight. The jury is still out on that one though.

Dig That Sunshine

On the rare occasions that the sun is actually out, it comes roaring through the windows in back of the house in the morning. That’s why I have the two plants there. It’s also why the cats love coming in here first thing in the morning. They are digging that crazy sunshine.

I Played Today

I played some guitar this morning before work. I have a nice, positive feeling of accomplishment. Granted what I needed to do was practice for this weekend’s band rehearsal but instead I recorded lead guitar parts for two songs. Quarantine Tunes Volume Seven is done with tracking. I have to mix the two songs I worked on today and then it is on to Volume Eight… which I already have one song that is a guitar solo away from being ready to mix.

I played through the direct output of two amps today. No noise. Headphones only. It is most definitely not as much fun as cranking out some actual sound and moving some air around, but it’s still always great to play. I used my ES-335, as you can see in the obligatory photo…

New Leaves

Both of the clippings from Bellana’s plant are growing new leaves! Check it out!

Bertie Botts Every Flavour Plant Clipping is about to have it’s first new leaf. It looks like it’s just about ready to start unfolding itself. Good job, Bertie Botts!

Bertha, our original plant clipping and the plant from which Bertie Botts was clipped, is also just sprouting itself a new leaf. It’s the first new leaf since I re-potted into this new, bigger pot. See that little thing sprouting off of that other leaf? I should have gotten closer for this one, but I wanted to capture the spirit of the thing.

Now if I could just get the cats to stop eating leaves off of Bertha. I’ve been trying to keep them out of the room, but they are crafty little suckers and keep sneaking in. Stop eating my plants, cats!

Generations

I re-potted Bertha the Plant Clipping today. She’s in my step son’s room with me right now, sitting in front of the window and hopefully not dying.

Bertha the Plant Clipping is the plant on the right. The plant on the left is Bertie Botts Every Flavour Plant Clipping, which was clipped off of Bertha. Does that make Bertie the next generation, or is it the same generation in a different pot? What are the language rules on this kind of thing?

Bertie Botts Every Flavour Plant Clipping is still alive, but in the couple of weeks since I took her out of the glass of water and put her in a pot of dirt she hasn’t grown any new leaves. Bertha looked half dead (I did a lot of pruning off dead leaves today) and she’s grown two new leaves in the same amount of time. I’m getting worried about our little Berttie Botts.

New Strings

My 2000 Les Paul Standard 50’s has new strings. Now if I just had calluses on my finger tips and had the nine songs on my to-do list all practiced up and rehearsal ready. Ugh.

Hipstamatic shake to shuffle to celebrate.
