Is Liz Warren Busy Right Now?

Shit.

Seriously… shit.

President Biden has apparently announced that he’s dropping out of the election.

We the people are completely fucked.

Are we going to get another primary? Are we going to just ignore the primary system and go back to the old system of just having state delegates pick the candidate at the convention? The convention starts on August 19th. Can we swing a new primary by then? What is my Senator, Elizabeth Warren up to right now? She got a presidential primary vote from me once before, can she get another one now?

I’ll happily vote for Vice President Harris if that’s how this works out, but I think this move more or less guarantees a win for the orange nazi goo boy and fascism, and it probably signals a quick and painful end to this American experiment thing.

American democracy had a good run, I guess.

My State’s Vote

The Electoral College Vote continues. CNN hasn’t updated the tally in an hour. Are they on a dinner break or something? Can’t we just keep going, please? I want this to end, now.

Anyway, this is a CNN report (more of a blurb, really) mentioning how my state is not a fascist state. We still believe in Democracy here.

Massachusetts casts its 11 electoral votes for Biden

From CNN’s Abigail Sharpe and Adam Levy

Massachusetts’ electors cast their 11 votes for President-elect Joe Biden during their meeting on Monday in Boston.

Biden won about 66% of the vote in the Bay State to President Trump’s 32%.

While five of Massachusetts’s last six governors have been Republicans, including current Gov. Charlie Baker, the commonwealth hasn’t voted for a Republican for president since 1984.

Presidential elector Linda Monteiro of Boston addressed the gathering on Monday afternoon, marking the importance of this moment as a lifelong Democrat and a daughter of immigrants. She called the Trump administration “ego-centric, divisive and mean-spirited” and stated that she believes the Biden administration will unite the country.

Electoral Stress

The Electoral College is voting today. I’m trying to follow along with the proceedings online. It should not be stressful as we know how each state is going to vote. At least we think we do. Given the nightmare of fascism that has engulfed much of our country, we can’t assume anything.

CNN has the current count at 161 votes for Biden and 158 for Trump. That’s as of about 2:30 PM Eastern time.

I feel like I’m getting an aerobic workout just siting here, waiting for the page to update. Come on Electoral College delegates. Do your jobs. 306 votes for President Elect Joe Biden, please.

Still Waiting

Pennsylvania and Georgia are still seeing a slow increase in the lead for Biden. Arizona’s lead is still shrinking. Nevada is… Nevada.

Am I still freaking out on Tuesday Take Five? You bet your sweet red white and blue ass I am.

We are getting to distraction time. We watched a Harry Potter movie last night while trying not to watch the news. Today there are some chores to do, there are guitar parts to record (I’ve decided that the rest of November will be played on my SG, you heard it here first), I’ve started binge re-watching The Flash because… I don’t know why, and there are still more Harry Potter movies to see.

All while we wait for the last few states to count the last few ballots. Please let it end today.

Nutz

Biden’s lead in Pennsylvania continues to grow, slowly but steadily.

The lead in Georgia is small and getting minutely smaller at a snail’s pace.

The lead in Arizona is still small but substantial though it too is shrinking very slowly.

The lead in Nevada jumped up in a big way and then bounced up and down from there.

All four states are getting closer and closer to finishing their counts. I desperately want all four states to end with Biden on top. That won’t give me the landslide I was hoping for, but it will be a pretty convincing win.

I don’t know how much longer I can keep myself together. At least it’s Friday and I can vegetate tomorrow if I need to.

Ugh!
