I had to go upstairs for something. At the top of the stairs you’re looking into my beloved wife’s office. This was what was looking back at me.
I took that with my iPhone but a few minutes later I came back with my Nikon in hopes of getting another shot. Nope. Robin had left the room and Lily was uninterested. I took this for my photo-a-day thing anyway. The light is more interesting but the cat’s pose isn’t.
310/365
I had to go looking for Robin too and I found her in the living room.
Photogenic felines are always distracting, don’t ya know.
If the weather would just cooperate and stop raining once in a while, I would spend my lunch this way more often…
Oh my goodness, does this cheap, frozen burger patty taste goooooood. It’s four ounces and I don’t know if I can eat the whole thing, but it is so gooood.
Also, is it hot enough for ya?
ADDENDUM: An hour or so after posting this I am happy to report that my tiny little surgically altered stomach and I were able to eat the whole hamburger and a handful of french fries I had on the side. I am pleased with the whole experience. I’m also feeling very full right now. Not quite stuffed, but close. I really want a glass of water but I still have to wait 42 more minutes before I can drink anything.
It’s the 4th of July. I think I mentioned that in a post already. That means it’s Independence Day but it also means it’s the first day of the 50/90 music challenge. Write 50 songs in 90 days between July 4th and October 1st. I’ve completed this back breaker a few times in the past (2016, 2020, and 2021, I think). Will I pull it off again this year?
Not likely.
I did, however, kick off song #1 for this year’s challenge. It’s just a rhythm exercise, really. I have never written anything in 13/8 time so I started out with a drum loop in 13/8 and just waited to see what happened. An hour later I am sitting here with the first song of the challenge completely written. It’s short and sweet and not very good and it’s only MIDI tracks in GarageBand at this point, no real live musical instruments are involved yet, but it exists.
Now let’s celebrate with a couple of pictures of Lily being lazy, and then I’ll go to the Apple Store to run an errand for the love of my life.
Two minutes walking, one minute running, repeat eight times. I cannot express how much that sucked. It was different than two days ago, somehow. It seemed tolerable until the last two rounds on Wednesday. Today it got harder much earlier, but at the end I don’t think it felt as tough as it did at the end last time. I’m not really sure how to describe it.
I took a slightly different route this time. Instead of just going around the circle I went down the road a ways. My map looks different and that’s something, at least. The next run will be on Sunday and that will be two minutes walking, one minute running, repeated 10 times. That is going to suck out loud.
I knew this was going to be a tough challenge, but it’s difficult enough that I would not be surprised if I abandon this little quest at some point. I don’t know if I have running a 5k in me. I am not ready to give up, I just won’t be upset with myself if I get further along in this process and come to the conclusion that I am just not a runner.
Maybe if that happens I’ll take up bike riding. Probably not.
When I got back to the house, this scene was waiting for me.
