Tomorrow’s to do list. Get up at 5:00am, run for 45 minutes, have something to eat with lots of protein, go grocery shopping to buy the fixin’s for a mini Thanksgiving this weekend, make the kids’ beds because I washed their sheets today, go to work, finish work, see my step son Harry for the first time in ages.

That’s my to do list for tomorrow.

Bring it on.

I am Bad at Predictions

More proof that I ain’t no prophet, right?

In the last post I wished everyone an easy Friday at work. Within 10 minutes of punching in this morning I got hit by a metaphorical bus known as one of our biggest customers. Everything is under control now, but yikes, eh?

Why does Apple’s podcast app suck so bad? Specifically on iPadOS. It keeps crashing and losing it’s place and what the hell, bro? I already listened to that Loki Episode 2 podcast, I don’t want to listen to it again, and I was halfway through this other Loki Episode 2 podcast so why are you starting from the beginning again? Also, where the hell are the new episodes of podcasts I subscribe to? They aren’t all a day late, are they? Come on, Apple. You want to lose to some crap fest like Stitcher? Or, heaven forbid, Spotify? Crud, babie. Crud. Get your podcast catching ass in gear, okay?

So, Loki… are they going to pull a fast one on us and have the TVA end up as the bad guys? If you think that’s a spoiler, read the title of this post again. No spoilers here, unless we’re talking about Fear the Walking Dead. I’ll spoil the shit out of that dumpster fire (no I won’t). Those of us who are still watching deserve it. Masochism, babie. Masochism.

I need to play guitar this weekend. I need to cut the grass, but I need to play guitar. Do you get where I’m coming from? While I need to watch the new Rick and Morty episode this weekend, I need to play guitar. Yeah, you’re picking up what I’m putting down.

Okay then. Back to work, fat boy. Back to work.

Friday Morning

Friday morning… at last.

I don’t think we have any plans this weekend. We’ll get to spend some time with Harry, but it’s Father’s day weekend and he should spend Sunday with his dad.

Other than that? No clue. I need a haircut and I need to have my eyes checked but neither will happen this weekend. Maybe next weekend, but not this weekend. The grass could use a mowing and we have a lot of leaves in the back yard still. I could work on that some. The forecast looks agreeable.

I just need to get through one more work day. Just one more. Here’s hoping all of our customers have full blown summer fever and they all go for long weekends and leave us alone for today. Wouldn’t that be nice (there’s zero chance)?

Okay. Time to punch in. Happy Friday, everyone. May your work day be quiet and easy and may your weekend arrive quickly.

Oh sweet merciful fate, it is here at last. Oh joy oh rapture oh bliss….

It is Friday. Friday at last.

The weekend is less thank nine hours away. It cannot get here fast enough.

It’s Friday!

Happy Socially Distanced Friday, everyone! Wash your hands, wear your mask, and Black Lives Matter.

It’s Friday!

Could be a Fun Day

Last night after work I got a text asking if I could cover for a site that was dealing with a big system failure.  Sure, I said.  They were hoping to have users back on the system at 8:30.  Works for me.  By 10:30 my phone hadn’t rung so I was feeling optimistic.  I should have known better.  The phone rang at 1:30 this morning.  By 2:30 I was told I could go back to bed.  That was good then, but not now.  Some of my co-workers heroically worked through the night, but difficulties persist.  That leads to Robbie and his group having an interesting Friday.

Oh weekend, you are so close yet so far away.  So much stands between us.

It is Friday.  That is good.  Tomorrow is Saturday.  That is better.

My wife seemed a little better last night, but she said she felt just as lousy.  She’s wondering if the antibiotics are causing an allergic reaction.  I hope not.  She’s working from home today.  The kids are going to an arcade with their father and then coming back to our house.  My worries about the reaction to Santa’s gifts is a little less today than it was a couple of days ago.  They are both using things that didn’t seem to go over all that well when they were opened.  That makes me happy.

We don’t have much planned for the weekend.  We had a get together scheduled with Larry and family and Mike and family, but pneumonia has postponed that for a couple of weeks.  It will be good to see everyone all at once again.  It’s been much too long.

All that’s left is a trip to the Apple store.  The kids and I all got iPads for Christmas (yes, we are all spoiled rotten.  Mostly me!) and the kids want to get cases for theirs.  I thought that maybe if Jen is feeling better by Sunday afternoon we might take a shot at seeing The Hobbit, but that’s probably not the smartest idea on my part.  Mostly we should just stay home and take care of Mom.  I think that is the best plan.  I’ll take care of any errands that need to be run, and the kids can stay in their pajamas, which they both love to do.

It’s the last weekend of 2012.  Let’s hope 2013 gets off to a healthier start for all of us.
