Virginia

The traffic getting through Baltimore was okay, but we were beyond it before 7:00am. Washington, DC was another story. It was bad, but not as bad as DC traffic was when we took the same road during our honeymoon. That ride took hours to go about 10 miles. Today was slow, but manageable.

Now we are a little South of Richmond, VA. Less than 100 miles from North Carolina.

Still a long way to go, but getting there.

Epic Road Trip Day Two

We hit the road at 1:50pm yesterday and called it a day around 9:00 in Aberdeen, WA. Umm, I mean Aberdeen, MD. We are about 50 miles north of Baltimore.

Nothing terribly interesting happened until we were checked into a hotel room. Jen was asleep and I was about to go to sleep. That’s when I started getting a migraine. Yippee. I turned out the lights and went to sleep. I woke up six hours or so later with a touch of a headache, but I think the actual migraine fun has passed. We will see how it goes as the long day rolls on today, but I think I’m okay. I’ll just have to watch it, just in case.

Okay, time to pack up the room and get day two rolling. We want to be in Florida tonight at the very least, if not somewhere close to the airport in Orlando.

Let’s go!!

I Have a Screw Loose

I have a screw loose, but you all knew that already, Har Har Har.

But seriously, folks. My glasses. One of the arms was super loose. Last night I had this vision, more like a nightmare except that I was awake, of being somewhere in North Carolina and having the arm fall off of my glasses and not being able to drive anymore because I’m half blind.

Jen has a little screw driver kit on a key chain that’s meant for glasses. I borrowed it but I couldn’t see the loose screw without my glasses on and I couldn’t fix the loose screw while my glasses are on.

Jen helped me out because she’s a saint. All is well now. Thank you, my love.

Back to Boston for today’s pic. When these turn on it is time for the kids to get home.

Or is that just a suburban thing?

The road trip to Florida is going to start in about five hours. Will there be truck loads of film shot? I already have a roll of Kodak ColorPlus 200 in the FG-20. Let’s see what happens, shall we?

New Years Celebration

How did you celebrate New Years Day?

I’ll tell you how we celebrated New Years Day.

A Will Ferrel double feature.

Anchorman

Blades of Glory

I don’t know how there is still cocaine in the world because I have to imagine that the writing of these two cinematic masterpieces used up all of the world’s cocaine supply.

Resolutions

Anyone out there making New Years Resolutions this year? 2020-2022 will be remembered as a non stop avalanche of suck. Is that enough to make you not look toward the imminent new year as something to be endured rather than something to strive for?

I’m not making any New Years Resolutions. Mainly because the obligatory go to is to lose weight and if I lose as much in 2023 as I did in 2022 I’d end up weighing something like 40 pounds and that, dear readers, would not look very good on me.

I could resolve to get the band back together or to write more songs or to practice guitar more. None of those things really meet the spirit of the thing though, you know?

So yeah, no 2023 resolutions for this guy here. I think it’s more appropriate to just duck and cover and ride out the coming shit storm.

Happy New Year. Two hours and 24 minutes to go.
