Flurry

I checked the weather before I left the house to drive to the office today. Very cold and very windy. That’s what we can expect.

Just before I got to my exit off of route 128 it started to flurry a little. Just a tiny bit. By the time I parked in the parking lot that flurry was actually sticking. How? It’s still just a flurry. There is so little snow falling that you can almost count the flakes as they drop. Somehow though, that tiny amount of snow is sticking to everything.

There is so little of it that you can’t even call it a dusting. This feels weird. We just had a sander come through the parking lot. Do they know something that the weather forecast I checked doesn’t?

Could this be related to the fires in Los Angeles? What a horror that is. The pictures are terrifying. If you’re in L.A., stay safe. If they tell you to evacuate, do it. You’re too important to risk otherwise. I’m 3,000ish miles away so I cannot even imaging what it’s like there.

Okay. I have to go in to work now. I’m sitting in the car typing this on my phone and I’m freezing. I hope everyone has a happy Wednesday. Stay safe out there.

Hootie

My wife and I watched an episode of Friends tonight. It was the episode where some of the gang went to a Hootie and the Blowfish concert.

Wow… Hootie… for those of us who lived through that period in history… those were dark days, bro. Dark days.

They weren’t like nazis in the US government dark, or ex president incites a riot in an attempt to overthrow a legitimate Federal election and then four years later the schmucks in the voting population actually elect the treasonous cunt to a second term dark… but they were certainly dark days.

Insert my shiver in fear here.

Feet Up

The joys of having a new, redesigned living room.

The irony here is that we are sitting on the new couch, which has a recliner at both ends, and we are both literally sitting on a recliner, and yet are feet are up on the ottoman. Goodness, are we spoiled or what? Heh heh heh.

Hanging With Me

I’m not sure why but the two cats have spent almost the whole work day so far in the room with me. They are just hanging out and being all mellow.

There are three pictures here and they were all taken hours apart from each other. Lily and Robin are just sacking out in here with me. It’s pretty cool.

I do have a theory as to why they are spending time with me rather than spending time with my wife, Jen. She actually tried trimming their claws. She got a couple of Robin’s last night and a couple of Lily’s this morning. I think they might be trying to avoid her a little bit.

You can try, cats, but those claws are getting trimmed eventually. Sooner rather than later, I guarantee.

Motivation

There may be time for me to play my guitar tonight. Not only that, I may have an opportunity to play through an amp at ear bleeding volume. Nice, huh?

How much do you want to bet that I’ll sit on the new couch watching television instead? I have zero motivation for anything right now. No motivation at all.

This cat 100% looks like I feel. She is absolutely my spirit animal right now.

Small Changes

Early morning small changes to the living room. Look at the pictures in the last post, then look at this:

We swapped the chairs, put the ottoman in place of the coffee table thing, and slid everything to the left a little. Let’s see how long this lasts. There are a couple of different things we could still try before we declare this project complete.

On a mostly unrelated topic, here’s today’s photo a day picture:

Living Room Redux

The living room has been slightly rearranged thanks to the new couch. I suspect we will love love love it for a few weeks and then rip it apart and change everything because that’s what crazy kids like us do.

Just for laughs, I took a panoramic pic too.

18 Days Away

It feels a little silly to be hyping up for a vacation on the first week back after the holidays, but here we are. 18 days until we leave for Florida where the temperatures hopefully will be a ton higher than the frosty 25 degrees we’re dealing with right now.

18 days is a long way off still, but I am starting to get psyched for it. Disney 2025 part one of two.

The Perfect Storm of Trucks

Before (taken last night):

During:

After:

The work crew in the street pulled in front of our house (it was sewer related, not gas related as I thought) about 10 minutes before the furniture delivery truck arrived. They blocked the road, they blocked the house, they blocked everything. The furniture guys got as close as they could and handled it all swimmingly.

The only way it could have been worse is if the trash and recycle trucks showed up at the same time. I honestly think the Earth would have spun off its axis had that happened.

The upside though is that we have a new couch. We just have to rearrange the living room now. That is a project for after work though.
