Good Stuff Coming Tomorrow

There are a couple of good things coming tomorrow. One good thing and one really good thing.

The good thing is a new mini-split AC system for the primary bedroom. We had one installed five years ago and were told it would last for a long time. It didn’t. It’s only a tiny bit better than useless right now. It’s freezing in there. We’ve had to add a space heater to keep from turning to ice some nights. The new AC is going to be installed tomorrow and here’s hoping it’s going to last as long as they tell us it should. At least this one has something like a 12 year warrantee.

That’s the good thing, what’s the really good thing? Harry. Harry’s Spring Break starts tomorrow and he’s coming to our house first. We’re going to have him here starting tomorrow evening and running through early next week. He’ll spend the second half of his break at his Dad’s but I’ll be sad about that when it happens. Until then though, I am stoked that he’s going to be at our house. He’ll be here when we ring in the start of daylight savings time on Sunday. I’m totally here for it.

Good TV

Yesterday’s episode of The Mandalorian was one that we will someday look back on as one of the best from the series. It was fantastic. Literally everything about it worked perfectly.

Today’s new episode of Star Trek Picard? Same thing. We’re going to look back at this one as a highlight not only of this show, but of Next Generation Star Trek in general. It was so good that I was sad when it ended.

It’s a good time to be a television viewer and a science fiction/fantasy/action adventure fan.

Leaving space behind, temporarily, the season one finale of Poker Face is out today too. I am really happy with that show. I’ve enjoyed every episode, and there are a couple of A+’s in there too (looking at you, episode nine and the one with the mom from Who’s the Boss, and episode one). I’m trying to get back into Extraordinary as well as I started watching that with Jen but she said she wasn’t interested anymore and let me finish it on my own. I still have 3-4 more episodes to go, but it’s a good show… just maybe not quite as good as Poker Face. Oh yeah, and let’s not forget that a new episode of The Bad Batch came out yesterday too and while that show has been hit or miss in season two, the two most recent episodes are both major hits. Yesterday’s was great.

In closing, let’s not forget that as I am listing off excellent TV shows that are currently airing that the single best show that’s out right now is going to wrap up it’s first season on Sunday. I’m talking about The Last of Us, of course. As good as all of these other shows are, and they absolutely are, The Last of Us leaves them all in the dust. It’s gut wrenching and emotional and exciting and terrifying and pretty much perfect and Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey deserve all of the awards. All of them.

Bad Drivers

Two douche nozzles are causing a ruckus on the road in front of our house. We were thinking there was either going to be a drag race around the circle or maybe a knife fight or something like that.

We were watching out the window trying to decide if we wanted to invite Methuen’s finest to the party when they drove away.

Feel free not to come back. I’m tired and need some sleep and don’t want to be distracted, m’kay?

So Far, So Good

I didn’t have much of a breakfast today. It was just a couple of protein supplements while in the car on the way to the office. Nothing special, but there were no issues at all. Check.

Lunch was one serving of microwaved chicken tenders and a couple of ounces of peanuts. No issues there either. My stomach handled it well. The closest I came to a problem was actually feeling a little too full.

I am at about 80% of my protein goal, and 75% of my liquid goal. After last night’s shenanigans I was worried that things would go bad today. Fortunately it is so far, so good.

Here’s hoping dinner goes off without a hitch too. It’s looking like it might be protein bars in the car again, but that’s okay. Fingers crossed.

Week 44 Weigh In

The good news is that I am down 0.4 pounds since last Wednesday’s weigh in. The bad news is that I am up one pound since Saturday’s monthly weigh in. 44 weeks worth of scale stepping and this is only the second time I’ve been up. I’m not happy about it, but I am okay. I knew I’d been eating quite a bit more than I had at any time since this all began, so I knew that gains were coming. That doesn’t mean I like seeing it when they get here. It’s okay though. The overall trend is very much down and we’re still progressing according to plan.

I’m more concerned with how much trouble I had eating last night. Usually when I get that weird stomach block thing there is pain but it clears after half an hour to 45 minutes. An hour on the outside. Last night it just didn’t clear. Also, there was no pain to speak of. I just couldn’t eat anymore. After an hour and a half or so I thought I was through it but one bite showed otherwise. I’m fine now, but it’s been nine hours since that bite of sugar free pudding. I haven’t eaten breakfast yet but I have had half of my liquid goal without issue.

Okay, I have watched this morning’s new episode of The Mandalorian, and the new episode of The Bad Batch is about to end. I need to get my day rolling. It’s an in the office day today so I have a lot to do and a short time to do it. Wish me luck.

What the Hell, Stomach

In the last post I mentioned that my stomach has been acting like a dick since dinner. After 90 minutes without eating I thought I was through it and tried to have a little cup of pudding. One bite clued me into the fact that whatever was going wrong hadn’t even remotely passed. That was an hour ago and it still hasn’t cleared.

So we are at 2.5 hours or so now with just the smallest bit of sugar free pudding taken in and still my stomach is acting like an asshole.

What the hell, stomach? Why you gotta be such a dick?
