Happy new internet connected thermostat day to those who celebrate.
It’s all shiny and new.

A cat moment from earlier this morning.
I have been playing guitar since 1986. Today was the first time I adjusted a truss rod myself. Hell, it was the first time I even took off cover.
I think it worked. I had a nasty fret buzz on my ES-335 down around the second fret. I think it’s better now. Crossing my fingers.
I used this video and it was helpful.
National Solo Album Month is underway. Write and record an album and do it all without any help. Fly solo on the whole thing.
I’ve had some vague ideas of a prog-like super long song or two but I think I am just going to write the usual batch of the usual length rock songs in 7/8 time (mostly) strung together in a big medley. I’ve done that before on one of these projects. Who knows.
I started one song. Bass and drums (midi) are done and there is a (midi) guide track for the guitar.
We are underway.
A haiku for you that’s sort of about being punished for taking yesterday off.
Super busy day.
Not sure where it all came from.
Guess I deserved it.
It is November 1st and I have all of the windows open. The cats are not concerned about climate change, but in the spirit of full transparency, I am a little weirded out by the temperature right now.
The Bruins lost to the Carolina Hurricanes last night. The team with the zillion dollar goalie lost 8-2. Eight to two. They gave up eight goals. Eight!
The way things went through the first month of the season I really didn’t expect a win, but eight goals? Eight?
Today is November 1st. We’re a month into the season. It’s too late to be thinking that the Bruins are just off to a slow start. It is starting to feel like maybe they just… ya know… suck.
No defense… no offense… no goal tending?
Is this going to be a long season or something?
As a black cat, Halloween is sort of Lily’s big day. She was very fascinated by the door being open but as usual, once the strangers started showing up she was nowhere to be found. She tried her best though. Good job, cat.
Robin also tried to get into the spirit of the day. Mostly showing support for her daughter, like a good parent. She also was nowhere to be found once people started coming by. Oh well. Both of our cats are just wimps, I guess.
The good news from the Trick or Treat experience is that we gave out a shit load of candy. The bad news is that we did not give it all out. I have a few leftover bags. In the pre-gastric bypass surgery world I would have started eating the leftovers by now. Today? Post-surgery? I can’t eat sugar anymore so… I don’t know what’s going to happen to the leftovers. We’ll see the kids in a couple of weeks. Maybe they’ll take it.
Hope your Halloween was a good one. Happy Halloween, everyone.
The Trick or Treat window in our town opened three minutes ago.
We are ready.
Bring it on.
A Halloween Haiku for you. More like a movie reference though.
To quote Highlander:
Happy Halloween, ladies.
(The bad guy says that)
