14 Years

14 Years ago today I went on a first date with a fantastic woman. Her name was Jen. Still is. She has a new last name now though. Funny, it’s the same last name I have. In fact, you might say that it’s my last name. As in we went on a date on April 5, 2007 and then at some later point something happened and she took my last name as her own. Like on May 30, 2009 something happened where we vowed to share our lives together or something like that.

Happy first dateiversary to the love of my life, Jennifer. 14 years and I’m still crazy about you.

Happy Anniversary, Jen!

11 years ago today, my beautiful bride and I finally tied the knot. We said our vows, we gave each other our rings, we smooched for all to see. Bellana was an eight year old bridesmaid, Harry was a six year old groomsman who also helped walk the bride down the aisle.

Best day ever.

I still love you more with each new day, Jen. Happy anniversary.

Now for the goofy, sarcastic portion of the blog post:

I once told Jen (well… probably more than once) that there was nothing the universe could throw at us that we couldn’t handle together. Given the last few years, especially the last few months, I think maybe I should have whispered that to her rather than say it out loud. It feels like the universe heard me and said, “hold my beer.” HarHar. Maybe I should have written it on a little slip of paper, folded it up into a tiny little square, and slipped it into her hand while the teacher had her back turned. I still stand by the statement though.

Thank you, sweetie, for making me the happiest, proudest, luckiest husband and step father the world has ever known.

Swankiest Car Ever

Two years ago a neighbor down the street had a really swanky looking wedding with lots of people in big cars and limos and stuff.

Today they are doing it again. This time they don’t have a limo. They went even swankier. They have a Rolls.

Carolyn and Scott’s Wedding – The Lack of Pictures Post

I took my little credit card sized Casio camera to the wedding last night. I shouldn’t have bothered. The pictures came out blurry and awful. The pics I took with my phone were better.

I did get to play with Marisa’s camera, which I think was a Nikon D3200. Nice. She coincidently had the lens I had previously decided I wanted to get next on the camera. Good stuff.

At one point most of the game night folks, including the bride, were standing in sort of one place so I tried to take a Spark video. I made it black and white because, you know, art.

Neighborhood Wedding Part 2

I posted yesterday that we had a wedding on our street. Not exactly. It appears that the limo was picking up the bride to take her to the ceremony, not bringing the happy couple to the reception at the house.

Who cares, it was still pretty cool.

Neighborhood Wedding

We have been seeing a lot of people at the house three doors up the road from us. Now we know why.

A stretch limo and a Cadillac just drove around the block blaring their horns and covered with Just Married signs.

Congratulations, neighbors!

My Sister’s Wedding Anniversary

Today’s my sister’s sixth wedding anniversary. They were married three months after I started dating my own beautiful bride. The wedding was the first time my dearest wife was exposed to a large portion of my large extended family. Amazingly enough, she didn’t run for the hills!

I love you, Jen!
