Balcony View
This is the view from our hotel room’s balcony. I didn’t realize until a few minutes ago (around 9:00am) that our room sort of faces East. I’ll see about the view at sunrise tomorrow morning.
Look at that puppy over there! She’s HUGE!
We’re going to Acadia National Park today, including a visit to the summit of Cadillac Mountain. Expect lots of pictures in the future. Film and digital. On the film side, expect color and black and white. I’m out of control!
Geddy’s
Geddy’s is a pub in Bar Harbor and I’m a fan.

WiFi Blues
We drove up to Bar Harbor in a little more than five hours. We met Bellana at the hotel and then walked about a mile to the downtown neighborhood for lunch. After a couple of hours Jen and I went back to the hotel and I unloaded my camera. Well, the digital camera. I did take some film but those need to wait.
I have 41 photos to add to Flickr. Flickr’s uploader has been working for 15 minutes and hasn’t managed to upload a single shot yet.
I gots them mean old hotel wifi blues, babie doll.
We might have to wait until Monday night or Tuesday to upload the pics. Oh well. You’re all heartbroken, I can tell.

Road Trip
On the road again, tooling through Maine. Gas stations and rest areas galore.

Off to an Exciting Start
Well, the four day weekend is off to a fun and exciting start, he said sarcastically.
I’m having myself a minor migraine. Isn’t that a treat? It’s not too bad but it is wiping me out a bit. I still need to clean out the car a bit, and I still need to put the clothes I put out for the weekend into a suitcase. Other than that and maybe putting my laptop and some various Apple product chargers into a backpack I think I am all set.
Hopefully I will be able to get some quality sleep tonight. Fingers crossed.
Happy four day weekend, everyone!
Four Day Weekend
3.5 hours left in the work day. I started lunch late today so I am still on break. Just throwing out a lunch time post while I still can.
My wife’s friend and former co-worker is getting married this weekend and we, along with my step daughter, are going. The wedding is in Bar Harbor, ME, which is about five hours from home. That means we’re going for the weekend. We took tomorrow (Friday) and Monday off for the drive there and back, and then we’re spending Saturday sight seeing and going to the wedding on Sunday.
One thing on Saturday’s agenda is Acadia National Park. Expect lots of photos. My mirrorless camera is going on the trip, and so are both film cameras. One is loaded with color film right now, the other with black and white. Variety, right?
I am super looking forward to this little get away. Jen and I visited Bar Harbor once many years ago and it was beautiful and I have always wanted to go back. Now we’re finally going.
Three hours and 28 minutes to go until I can sign out of work. That’s 208 minutes. That’s 12,480 seconds. So close, yet so far. I still need to pack tonight, including charging camera batteries and grabbing some extra film. I can’t wait, gentle readers. I can’t wait.
Photo a Day
I have been terribly busy at work today so I took this pic for my photo a day challenge at lunchtime today.
Zero thought went into this, but it’s done and done. Now I have one hour and 40 minutes of work day to get through before I go and get my hair cut. What a day, kids. What a day.
Oh, and our flight home from Florida next month may have randomly been cancelled today. Hooray, right?
Where Would We Go?
There are two answers to this question. One is the obvious answer that would absolutely happen. The other is the what else could we do answer.
The obvious answer is I would take two tickets to Orlando, FL and my wife and I would go to Disney World. That is her favorite place to travel to, so that is absolutely where we would go.
The what if answer is tougher to decide on. What if meaning, what if Jen for some reason didn’t want a free flight down to Disney World. I would probably say London. That way we could see a legendary, epic city and also take a ride up to Scotland to see the land where my wife’s family comes from, and also take a boat over to Ireland to see the land where my family comes from. That would be pretty neat, right?
There’s also France. We could see Paris and maybe train around to other major cities on the European continent. My step daughter’s travels during her study abroad program have opened my eyes to just how many amazing options there are on the continent and how all of them are seemingly in reach of each other.
If we decided to stay in the US though it would be San Diego. That would be my first choice. We’ve also been thinking of maybe visiting the Grand Canyon or some places in Arizona or Utah or Nevada. Natural wonders type things rather than cities. Those would be options.
We would totally go to Disney World though. Without question. Without hesitation.
