4:35am

It’s 4:35am. The sun will come up at Hampton Beach at 5:31. I should be there. The cameras are packed along with a couple of extra rolls of film that I do not expect to need, I have a breakfast of protein bars in a bag, my morning vitamins are being taken with some sugar free Gatorade as I type this, my defective tripod and a folding chair are still in the car from last time. I am going to need a nap when I get home, but other than that I think we’re good to go.

Let’s go sunrise chasing and cross our fingers that the cloud cover is minimal like the weather app says it should be. The question again is, where do I stop on the way home for bonus photo time? I’m thinking downtown Lowell. We’ll see.

Ocean Shoot Mark II

The sun will come up at Hampton Beach tomorrow at 5:31am. If I am going to get there in time I have to leave the house by 4:50 at the latest. I would have to be out of bed by 4:20 or so.

Can I do another sunrise shoot? The second one in a week?

I’m pretty tired tonight… but I think I will pack the cameras into a backpack before bed tonight. You know, just in case.

Photography is fun, isn’t it?

Pick Up the Dumpster, Please

We rented a dumpster for the weekend. I had a ton of crap in the yard that needed to be dumped, and a ton of crap in the cellar that also needed to be dumped. Renting a small dumpster is what we do when we find ourselves in a situation like this.

They delivered it on Friday. I worked off and on filling it up on Friday through Sunday. They are supposed to pick it up today. The window they gave us is 9:00am to 5:00pm. That window is going to close in less than an hour (the clock says it’s 4:13 right now).

What the heck are they waiting for? Come and get the damn dumpster. I want to put our cars back into the driveway. They’ve been parked on the street since Friday morning. I know it’s been raining heavily all day, but should that stop the pickup? I wouldn’t think so. Let’s get this done, shall we?

Subject change

It’s been almost a week since I did a couch to 5k run. I am not sure when I am going to get back to it. I will get back to it, that’s a promise, I just don’t know when. I also think I am going to redo the entire last week. Instead of picking up where I left off, week three, workout two, I am going to start at week two, workout one. I feel like I need to do some rebuilding. I still want to finish this process. I just don’t have a lot of confidence in my ability to get there. We’ll see.

Subject change

I just want to go out and take pictures of stuff. Film, digital, whatever. I want to do it first thing in the morning when the sun is out. For almost the entire month of June and so far in July there have been few if any mornings with sunshine. It’s infuriating and utterly depressing. Why? I can’t remember the last sunny weekend morning. The forecast for this coming weekend is already saying cloudy and rainy. It’s hard to do this shit on a weekday, but even those are always cloudy and rainy. This Spring was the Spring of suck, and the Summer is becoming the Summer of suck. I just want to scream.

At least I can fill the creative void with some music. I just don’t want to. I want to split the difference. Music and photos together, not one or the other. Blah!

Where to Next?

I’m not planning on shooting any pitchers tomorrow. The weather is supposed to clear up, but I don’t have it in me. I’ll be ready to go in a couple of days though.

But where should I go? There’s a couple of spots in Lowell. The river walk next to the hockey rink, and pretty much anything downtown. I’m going to be disappointed though because I’m pretty sure they got rid of the cobblestones. Downtown has a sort of 19th century nightmare vibe to it though, so I’ll still go. But when? No idea. I think a Sunday at sunrise would be best. We will see.

Billerica center has some nice things. A little park, the old church. Stuff like that. Concord is nearby and it has one of my favorite places, Minuteman National Park. I’m hesitant to drive that far for a river view when we are balls deep in a brutal drought. That might wait for the fall. Also, my tripod is broken (it doesn’t tilt anymore) so long exposures of the Concord River might not work out. We will see.

Boston. Cambridge. I put in for a couple of days off later in the month and one of them may include an early morning in the city. Weather permitting. We will see.

Is there anything in Salem, NH? Dracut, MA? There has to be, right?

Where else can I go? I might have to ask The Google. We will see.
