Today’s photo a day pic is the owl on the xmas tree again. You’ll probably see it a few more times over the next three weeks. That’s just how things work in December.

Shoot Film
Stop talking about it, Robert. Just do it! Go out and shoot some freakin’ film!
Broken Record
I sound like a broken record here but I need to find the time and energy to go out and shoot photos. I have a new camera to play with and I haven’t used at all yet. What am I waiting for?
Sunday morning? I am going to be busy tomorrow morning, so that’s out. The next day though is Sunday. Maybe? Probably not, but maybe. We’ll see. It’s gettin’ cold out there, kids. If I don’t get out now I won’t be up for it for months.
Finally Getting Stuff Done
I had a very unproductive morning. I went grocery shopping for some Thanksgiving stuff.
This afternoon, however, was better. My daily exercise is done. I made lunch for my beloved bride. I put lead guitars onto four songs. My fingertips are killing me, but I feel better about the state of the universe right now.
How about some obligatory guitar pictures.
Oh yeah, and did I mention that I played through my amp instead of using a direct input into my USB audio interface.
Now we’re going to order some take out and Harry will be joining us for dinner.
Excellent.
Blogiversary: Missed
Four days ago, November 18th, was the 16th anniversary of the start of this blog. Sort of. It was the 16th anniversary of the start of the blog I had on blogger.com that was moved to wordpress.com in 2012 and then moved to medium.com for a while and then moved to a new wordpress.com at some point in time that I don’t remember. 11/18/08 was the day that I started a blog that was public facing, so that’s the anniversary date that I celebrate here. Before that I had private posts on myspace. Before that (briefly) I had private posts on yahoo360 (remember that one? No? Neither does anyone else).
Allow me to celebrate the 16th blogiversary with a picture of a cat because what the hell else would I post to honor an anniversary?

Good Family Weekend
From a family point of view, this weekend was wonderful. From a creative projects point of view though this weekend didn’t happen. No music, no photo projects beyond just snapping a few with my phone.
I literally would not change a thing, but maybe over the next week I’ll do some creative stuff. Just to balance the karmic scales, you know?
Here’s a film photo to hold me over for tonight.
Photo a Day Challenge: Options
It’s silly that I still do the whole photo a day challenge project thing. It’s almost always going to be a picture of a cat, or a guitar, or the view out of my home office window. It’s bad on the days I have to travel into the office because then it is likely going to be a picture of the parking lot, or my keyboard, or… nothing.
This week I may be in the office four days. That’s crazy in this post-covid world, but that’s how it’s working out. Often on in the office days I take a picture of something when I am in the cellar doing my morning exercise. Yesterday it was a guitar. Today it’s a candle. Let me show you…
Who knows what it is going to be tomorrow and the next day.
As it turns out, I actually ended up with options today. Surprise! I had to put gas in the car so that I could make the long (44 miles, about 90 minutes) commute. I could have used this picture for today’s photo a day instead of the candle…
Or, I could have used this one…
I mean… are those puppies art or what? I can almost smell how impressed you are (#sarcasm).
Tomorrow Should Be a New Camera Day
Black and White Photo a Day
I decided to make today’s pointless photo a day photo black and white. Why? Because my new 40ish year old eBay camera purchase is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow, and the first roll of film I bought to test drive it with is also going to be delivered tomorrow and it’s black and white film.
See how everything ties together? I hope the camera works. I hope I don’t screw up my first roll of 120 film. I hope I don’t find that I hate using a TLR camera. I hope I have a chance to shoot the roll (the camera shoots 120 film in square format which I think means I only get 12 shots per roll. We’re going to need to make these suckers count!) soon so that I can send it out to get it developed and see if the camera actually works. I didn’t pay much for it so if it doesn’t work I will be pissed off but I won’t be pissed off, if you dig where I’m coming from.
Anyway, here is today’s pointlessly black and white pointless photo a day pic.
