Raise your hand if you put vocals onto five songs this morning before work.

I didn’t need to hide in the car. I did it at my desk in the cellar. Five songs with vocals. That’s 10% of the 50/90 goal. Not bad, red head.

The mouser takes a much needed afternoon nap.
I spent about two hours recording guitars today. I finished five of the 10 songs that are currently in the fifty-songs-in-90-days-challenge pipeline. Including the song that is in 13/8 time, and the song that is in 15/8 time. First time I have ever knowingly played guitar in either of those time signatures. Milestones, babie!
I used direct input into the USB audio interface for all of the tracks, including using two amps at a time. I took the obligatory pictures, but Flickr is being a dick today and won’t let me upload PNG files, or any files for that matter, on the web. I had to dumb these down to JPGs and share them onto my iPhone and upload them from the Flickr app. I am thusly annoyed.
I had to go upstairs for something. At the top of the stairs you’re looking into my beloved wife’s office. This was what was looking back at me.
I took that with my iPhone but a few minutes later I came back with my Nikon in hopes of getting another shot. Nope. Robin had left the room and Lily was uninterested. I took this for my photo-a-day thing anyway. The light is more interesting but the cat’s pose isn’t.
I had to go looking for Robin too and I found her in the living room.
Photogenic felines are always distracting, don’t ya know.
I need to shoot film!!!
I need to get outside and shoot film again. I’m going stir crazy with all these raining, cloudy, miserably awful weather days. Spring was a bust and Summer isn’t looking much better.
Okay folks, the guitar gear is setup and ready to record some new music.
I put the new Analog Man King of Tone overdrive pedal onto my stay-at-home pedal board and plugged the whole thing in. I have three amps setup. The Fender Deluxe Reverb will be used when I can make oodles of noise and want to record with a microphone. The other two amps are the Fender Bassbreaker 15 and the cute little Vox MV50. They are both connected to the ABY switch so that I can run them both at the same time, and they are also both plugged directly into the USB audio interface so that I can run direct at times when I cannot make any noise.
Now I just have to actually play. Any minute now, right?
The traffic on this morning’s commute was pretty good. It’s the day after a national holiday so I wasn’t expecting any problems. There were two accidents. Waze called the second one major and tried to route me around it, but it took me so long to get to it that it was cleared by the time I arrived, and the traffic on the Waze detour was so bad that it re-routed me back to my normal route. I did get a pic of the first accident, which was very minor:
The weird part of this drive was all the breakdowns. There must have been about 20 cars pulled over during my 40 mile drive. That’s an insane number. No clue why there were so many people having so many problems. I don’t get it, but the Waze community was losing it’s shit reporting pulled over vehicles. There were very few moments during the entire drive when I wasn’t getting a warning of some sort.
Bertha the house plant has seen better days. It’s still growing like crazy, but it doesn’t look nearly as healthy as it used to.
Robin the cat is still the prettiest cat ever.
And that’s what happens when I bring my camera upstairs during my lunch break. Amazing, I know.
