More Playing Time

I was able to sneak in my full day’s worth of exercise after work tonight. It was borderline miraculous and my legs are killing me.

I also snuck in more guitar. I put rhythm tracks onto one song and leads onto two.

Bonus. Now I am going to hang out and wait for my step daughter to come home. She’s on her way.

Bonus indeed!

Oh yeah, and I also uploaded those photos I forgot to upload this morning before I left for work. That second one is 4/365 for the photo a day thing. Let’s just call it a complete day and pat ourselves on the back a little.

Turn Around

I left the driveway for work at 7:40 or so. I drove until about 8:10 and then something came up at home and I had to turn around and head back. It took less than 10 minutes to get home.

And now you understand how Boston traffic works once Labor Day is over.

At least I took today’s photo a day pic. 3/365.

Labor Day Car Music

I made it out for some car music this morning. I recorded vocal parts for five songs and I also drew a crowd.

There were also a lot of actual people around, just walking around the parking lot getting their daily exercise in. Leave me alone, people! Don’t listen to me singing! Don’t listen to me singing, damn it!

Guitars

I have once again run out of songs to add guitar tracks to. This morning I put both rhythm and lead guitars onto one song, and lead guitars onto three other songs. That’s it. I have three songs ready for vocals. I need to get those done, and then after that I just have to write eight more songs from scratch. I have 35 songs finished, four ready to mix, and three ready for vocals. I am so far ahead of the 50 songs in 90 days challenge minimum pace this year that it is crazy. Just crazy.

Here are guitar pictures. I decided to change guitars today. I think the next time I play I might change up the pedal board a little bit too. We’ll see.

Photo a Day (not) Complete (Yet)

Today is day 365 of this year’s Photo a Day Challenge! I’m finished now, right?

Nope.

2024 is a leap year. One more day to go. Today’s photo will be labeled 365/365. Tomorrow’s will be labeled 366/365. It makes sense to me, but then again… I am a little warped, mentally speaking.

Huh… wordpress.com seems to have changed the way Flickr links embed in the editor and it’s not giving me the space to put a caption. That’s not any fun.

Anyway, I took this while driving home from a partially successful pre-work car music. I put vocals on four songs. I had seven songs ready to go, but I only got to four. At least it means I have some songs that are ready for guitar parts now. I’ll get to ’em. I promise.

Caught Up For Now, I Guess

Well, I ran out of guitar tracks this morning. I put leads onto two songs (and boy, are the two songs bad. Baaaad songs, bad) and those are the only two things I had that were ready for any guitar tracks. Time to start writing and recording vocals and adding some new songs to the 50/90 challenge worklist.

I played all right today, but the songs I worked on are just bottom of the barrel crap-o-la. Oh well. That’s how it goes with these song writing challenge things. Lots of bad stuff cranked out in the hopes of accidentally coming up with one or two keepers.

There. One photo for each crappy song.

Do Something

I fear bad news today and I am stressing out like crazy. Calm down. Focus. It’s going to be okay.

I played a little guitar this morning. It helped a little. I lost track of time though and had to rush to get myself ready for work. Oops.

I have a ton of stuff to get done today at work. I can do it. I can focus. I can handle this stuff.

And right on queue I get pulled into a potentially major issue. Oh good.

Mangled Finger Tips

I played some guitar this morning. I put rhythm and lead tracks onto one 50/90 song, and leads onto two more. I played very poorly and my finger tips have been torn to shreds. Serves me right for going almost a week without playing at all.

Here is a photo to prove that I don’t always have my guitar’s volume controls maxed…

(I was doing the Clapton thing where you use both pickups but roll the neck pickup’s volume off a little. It’s not as famous as his “woman tone” thing [dude, come up with better names for this stuff] but it’s something he did when he was still playing Gibsons. Oh, and the woman tone thing? Play the neck pickup and just turn the tone knob all the way down. He sometimes did it with both picksups as well, turning both tone controls all the way down)
