Out for a drive to run some errands. Obligatory downtown pics.
On the way there…
On the way home…
While I was driving home the Bruins took a 2-0 lead over the Maple Leafs. Since getting home, the Leafs tied it up. Crud.

Oh happy day, the film is on the way!
On Friday I ordered five rolls of 35mm film development from a photo lab in California. I packaged it all up and planned to drop it off at the post office on Saturday before I woke up sick and didn’t leave the couch for the entire weekend.
Today, Monday, I kicked off my lunch break with a drive to the post office downtown where I dropped off my package full of rolls of film and kicked off the anticipation for new film scans. How long will it take to get to the lab? No idea. How long will it take the lab to develop the film? No idea. How long will it take for the lab to get the scans back to me? Again, I have no idea.
I don’t know how long any of the process will take, but I do know that I CAN’T WAIT!!!
In closing, here are two pics of the downtown clock… because.
Three days in a row. This is becoming a trend!
Car music this morning. I put vocals on the four songs I wrote lyrics for last night, and one extra that was left over from last month. At least I parked in a different spot today. You know, just trying to keep things fresh.
Here’s hoping I get a chance to record some lead guitars today. Maybe add another song idea or two and put rhythm guitars on them. We also need to start mixing some of this crap too. Time to start finishing these puppies off.
On the way home I took some point and shoot pictures, mostly stop light theater because I got stopped at almost every light in the city. Happy Sunday!
It is gorgeous outside today. The sky is perfect.
My love wanted an apple pie from an apple orchard so I took care of that for her. I am guessing as apple pies go, the one I picked up is going to be legen-wait for it!
-dary!
Legendary!
I made two photo stops today. I tried for three, but all of the parking lots near the riverwalk behind the Tsongas Arena in Lowell were blocked off and I just gave up.
I stopped along the train tracks near the old duck pond in Andover. I took a couple of digital and a couple of black and white film pics.
Now that I have taken train track photos I feel like a real 21st century photography nerd. It’ll be more impressive when I get the film shots back, assuming they come out okay.
I was annoyed by my failure in Lowell so I took one of the Aiken Street bridge in auto mode while I was driving across. Take that, Lowell.
Next stop was Riverside Park in Methuen. I was getting some Merrimack River shots today and there was nothing you could do about it, universe.
There is a new little fishing dock at this park. It helped me get all artsy and nerdy. Blurry background, don’t you know.
By this point both film cameras had run out of film. I now have three rolls ready for development. I will wait a few weeks before I send them out. I haven’t decided if I am bringing film to Disney World, but if I do I will bundle them all together. We’ll see what happens.
So… downtown Lowell tomorrow morning? Maybe.
The weather is supposed to be okay in the morning. Should I take the cameras out for a walk? I want to, but I also want to sleep late. If I do go out early I don’t want to go far. Maybe the park along the river in Methuen. Maybe the train tracks near Dascomb Road in Andover. Maybe the riverwalk behind the Tsongas Arena in Lowell. Some place close, but not the usual two or three stops in town. I don’t know. I guess it depends on what time I fall asleep tonight.
Harry and Jen are going out to run some errands in the late morning. Jen’s mom might be coming for a visit. I want to make some music. The fifty songs in 90 days thing has kinda gone down the crapper. I haven’t touched it in 18 days. More or less. I could still pull it off, but do I still have the motivation to try? I don’t know.
The weather looks decent on Sunday too. Maybe some sunrise at the ocean? We’re into the second half of August now. We’re running out of good weather days. I should do something while I still can. We’ll see.
First though, before I fall asleep, how about some Doctor Who. 2nd Doctor, season five, episodes 23-28, The Web of Fear. Sounds like a plan. Bring on the Yeti.
I pulled double duty this morning and it might throw off my whole day.
I went out early for car music, but on my way there I stopped downtown for some film photos. I took my Nikon and Dad’s zoom lens and finished the roll that was in the camera. I went to the dam and our little downtown shopping area and took a few pictures. I did not bring my mirrorless camera, but I did bring my point and shoot, just so I could have something to post here.
The sunlight was really nice for a change. It was a good day to go out.
After a short trip downtown I went to the movie theater parking lot and put vocals on three songs. I could have done two more but my voice was starting to get tired and I wanted to get home for some breakfast and a shower before work.
The one thing I failed to do this morning was my 30 minutes of exercise. I am going to have to get that in a piece at a time throughout the day. I failed to close my exercise ring on Saturday, and I failed to close my move ring (calorie counter) on both Saturday and Sunday. That ends today. No more missing rings, even if I do have a day where I am feeling sick. August starts tomorrow and I want another perfect month.
Until then, here’s the obligatory clock pic.
Oil changed, inspection sticker acquired, groceries purchased, and a bunch of Power Ball quick picks snagged. Now what? Music? Probably lunch first. Maybe a Doctor Who or two.
We used to live in this house.
Also, meow.
It’s the middle of June. The sun rise is ridiculously early. The weather is almost sort of nice. It’s time. It’s time to start planning morning photography projects again. The summer is just about here and around these parts it doesn’t last long. Yeah, it’s time to get back to it. Film and digital. Let’s get to it, Robert.
