The NHL just announced that the 2016 Winter Classic will be the Boston Bruins vs the Montreal Canadians at Gillette Stadium.
I’ve never been to Gillette. If it weren’t for the whole winter aspect, I’d be really psyched.

The Boston Bruins have won five games in a row after going on an epically bad losing streak. I think I know who is responsible for the turn around.
Me.
I’m the reason they are winning.
I was very critical of the B’s when they were losing, both on this page and on Twitter. I’m not sure how but I am convinced that word of my displeasure found its way back to the team and they responded by turning things around.
You’re welcome, Bruins fans.
I have never paid attention to how cites are selected to host the Olympics. However, I just read that Boston, Massachusetts is the US city that will put in a bid to host the 2024 Summer games.
I have a few thoughts…
First, I would rather the Winter games. Can you say Hockey?
Second, logistically hosting the games here would be an absolute horror of a nightmare. We are a small city with a ton of people packed into a really small area. Think of the traffic. Think of the construction. It would be awful.
Third, I REALLY REALLY WANT IT TO HAPPEN!
Forth, if we do host the games in 2024 I will do everything humanly possible to see an event. Any event. If they have gum chewing in the 2024 Olympics I will try to get tickets. How often do you get the chance to see an Olympic event in person. Once in a lifetime? Less than once in a lifetime? I want to go!
Tonight’s edition of the 50/90 song post is a little ditty about the annual college student moving day crushing that the city of Boston goes through over Labor Day Weekend.
Happy double parking, moving trucks driving the wrong way on one way streets, red lights are just suggestions weekend, Boston! WOOHOO
Wasn’t it supposed to rain all day today?
My step daughter is celebrating a birthday early next week. It’s a milestone. She loves the theater so we all went into town today and saw Blue Man Group at the Charles Theater. It was pretty funny. I’d never seen it before and I really enjoyed it. Both kids did too. Jen had seen it once years ago and she really enjoyed it this time as well. After the show we walked over to the Old City Hall building and had dinner at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse. Oh joy, oh rapture, what deliciousness! If paradise took the form of a steak, it would take the form of the ribeye I had for dinner. Wonderful!
Here are a boat load of random camera phone clicks in no particular order.
I thought this door was pretty cool.

So I guess my iPhone 5 does have that bug where too much sunlight turns the image purple. Weird.

When you’re in the theater district, people tend to queue up randomly.

Intermission Tavern.By far the best name for any drinking establishment in the theater district.

Limelight Stage – Studios? Hello, can I speak to mister Lee, mister Lifeson, or mister Peart please?

A Masonic building and two colleges. It’s a busy picture.

As State Capital buildings go, our State House is pretty good.

I wanted a pic of the horse drawn carriage, but when I look at it all I can see is the iPhone HDR’s error. See it?

Yes, despite the horrible picture, we were on the Freedom Trail.

Old City Hall. Aka my favorite steakhouse in the city.

A better obligatory Hancock pic.

We celebrated my step daughter’s birthday with dinner and a show in Boston. Apparently we also celebrated with a zombie walk. We had no idea.
Blood and gore in the streets.

There seemed to be a lot of zombie hunters in the parade too. Most were armed with super soakers. I don’t know how effective that would be in an actual zombie apocalypse though.

Going against all instinct, the cops seemed to be letting the zeds have the run of the place.

The zombie walkers sort of melded in with the tourists. Sometimes it was hard to tell which was which.

The dude in black was taking it very seriously. A little too seriously.

Somewhere in this throng was a kid dressed as a zombie snow white. Easily the best costume of the bunch.
