In the Office Today

I am in the office today. I expect to be in the office tomorrow, at home on Thursday, and then in the office again on Friday. You are clearly beside yourself with fascination, I can see. Clearly.

I took a picture for today’s photo a day entry. Again, you are fascinated.

We called the contractor’s office who worked on our dishwasher over the last two weeks and demanded a refund. They sent out a tech to see what was wrong instead. He ripped our kitchen apart and found nothing wrong. Insert a frustrated sigh here. I ran the dishwasher twice last night and the error message did not return. The working theory is that something was partially blocking the outflow, possibly in the garbage disposal, and it just backed up into the dishwasher. Yeah, I guess. We’ll run the disposal before running the dishwasher and see how that works. Frankly I am still wanting to take the thing outside and run it over with the car. We’ll see how it goes for a while, but I don’t see myself trusting the little bastard any time soon.

Okay, I gotta run. Someone needs me to move some code out to a customer. I’ll get on that and talk to you folks later.

Random Cats

While I stress over the death rattle of my dishwasher (friggin’ thing) and the coup that put a nazi dictator into the white house, I try to compensate and make myself feel better about everything by taking bad photos of cats.

There, don’t you feel better now?

No One Seems to Get It

Spoiler alert, here comes another political bitch fest. You’ve been warned.

I don’t get why so many people don’t seem to understand this. People are looking to the US courts to keep the orange shit clown from destroying our country. Why? Haven’t these people been paying attention?

The supreme court of the fascist states of america gave the sitting president immunity from all prosecution for any actions taken while in office. That means the sitting president can literally do whatever he wants without any repercussions. Why then do so many people think that a court ruling against him will have any affect? The court says he can’t just deport anyone he pleases? Fine. He’s immune from prosecution so he ignores the court ruling. The court says he can’t rescind birthright citizenship? Fine. He’s immune from prosecution so he ignores the court ruling. The court says he can’t cancel aid payments that congress passed and a previous president signed into law? Fine. He’s immune from prosecution so he ignores the court ruling.

The federal government is gone. The supreme court saw to that with the immunity ruling. The constitution of the united states is gone. The supreme court saw that that with the immunity ruling. We are living in a dictatorship now where the president has absolute power and can do whatever psychotic thing he pleases and there is nothing we can legally do about it.

Why are so many americans having such a hard time realizing this? It is as clear as an azure sky of deepest summer. It is as clear as an un-muddied lake. It’s like when the trade federation dude asked Darth Sidious if his blockade was legal and Sidious said he’d make it legal. The orange shit clown doesn’t need to make his bullshit legal, the supreme court has already done that for him.

Enjoy your new dictatorship, citizens of the former united states. We’re stuck with it now.

Boston Holidays

March 17th is a big day for the city of Boston. As most people know, it’s St Patrick’s Day and Boston does love to get its Irish on for a day. For me personally, I am of Irish descent (with the red hair to show for it… for now). My father’s mother’s family came to the US from Ireland. My mother’s parents were from New Foundland (before it became part of Canada) but prior to that we believe the family was in Ireland as well. My father’s father’s family was from Nova Scotia (I think) and before that the family was from England. I guess no one is perfect.

While St Patrick’s Day is the big deal for most of us around here, people in Suffolk County also have another holiday today. Evacuation Day. George Washington placed the cannons stolen from Fort Ticonderoga onto Dorchester Heights, where they could threaten the English warships in the harbor, thus breaking the Siege of Boston. When I was a kid I was insanely jealous of the kids in Boston because they had the day off from school on March 17th and those of us in Middlesex County did not. They didn’t have to go to school on St Patrick’s Day and we did. What a rip off! There were people from the Merrimack Valley fighting with the Continental Army during the siege, why don’t we get the day off to honor them too?

It wasn’t until I was 21 or 22 years old and going to school at Northeast Broadcasting School in Boston that I got to have Evacuation Day off. Better late than never, I guess. As for today, happy St Patrick’s Day. Most of Boston drank themselves into the annual stupor over the weekend, so there isn’t a lot of actual celebration today. We used to have Corned Beef for dinner on St Patrick’s Day, but I think tonight we’re just going to have chicken. Maybe we’ll do something next weekend to celebrate. I am wearing a green shirt today though. Not because I chose to wear green today, but because a green shirt just happened to be on the top of my laundry pile. Call it the luck of the Irish.

LC Code

I am so fucking mad.

Our dishwasher had a leak. About two weeks ago. We payed a crap ton of money to get it fixed and it took over a week. I’ve run it two, maybe three times since. Last night we got the same leak error code that started the whole mess.

I am so incredibly pissed off.

Did I mention all of this started one day after the warranty expired? Yeah. Perfection.

Fucking shitty dishwasher. I want to rip it out of the wall and take an axe to it. With extreme prejudice.

Weird Day

I feel like today is going to be a weird day. I am not sure what to do with myself.

I have to go grocery shopping. That’s it. Outside of that I have nothing on my agenda. Nothing at all. I don’t know how that happened. I am thinking I maybe should have slowed down on the IKEA party yesterday and saved some of it for today. I will cook lunch and dinner for the love of my life, but those aren’t really agenda items, those are more like a cross between I’m in love with her and want to do things for her and… you know… basic survival needs.

I might try to do some music today. I want to work on a couple of song ideas for Record Every Month. We don’t have a band practice today. We had a discussion yesterday. It was off then it was on then it was off. Next week. I want to do some gear review before next weekend. I might bring my big Fender Bassbreaker 18/30 in place of the Vox AC15, but the tweed covering has some… stuff on it. Mold? Dirt? I don’t know. I haven’t used the amp in years and I am a little afraid. I also want to go super basic with pedals. The rig I have at the practice room is making all sorts of weird noise. I want to tear it all down and build it back up again, but I have to take the pedal board home to do that, and I want to have something small and simple to replace it with in the meantime.

So… yeah. Nothing else going on today. I’ll find something to do. I kinda fear that the something I come up with is going to be binge watching Star Trek the Animated Series. I watched the first two episodes last night. I think there are 22 more. I bet I can get through a lot of it if I really apply myself.

Happy Sunday.

Blogiversary

Apparently today was this WordPress.com account’s eighth birthday. Time flies.

Of course the blog itself dates back to 2006, but it has changed platforms a whole bunch of times. It’s only this latest incarnation that’s celebrating its birthday.
