How important is spirituality in your life?

Same answer as last year. How important is spirituality in my life? It is 0.00% important. It is non-important. None. Negative. No importance at all.

Just call me a fairy tale free zone. Again. Still. Whatever. The chances of that ever changing are also 0.00%. Sorry. I know this prompt is pandering to the religious folks who answer all questions with some version of god, but they aren’t getting me with it. No dice, chuck.

Know What Sucks?

I made it through the episode of House of the Dragon (HotD) without falling asleep. Probably because it was riveting. That’s all the review you get out of me. This is a spoiler free zone. You’re welcome.

Now that the episode is over I can shift my focus onto something that seriously sucks. What to know what that is? Want to know what sucks?

Tomorrow is Monday. The weekend is over. That sucks.

It’s 10:41pm. My alarm is set for 5:00am. That sucks.

The good news is that the project for work that I needed to get done by last Friday was done on time. That’s nice. There is nothing hanging over my head when the work day starts tomorrow. That doesn’t suck.

My two days in the office this coming week will be Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday will start in Foxborough. That sucks.

Want to know something that’s crazy and unbelievable? Well, crazy and unbelievable for me at least? I am less than three weeks away from the 20th anniversary of me starting to work at the company I work for. It’s going to be my 20th hire-aversary. That doesn’t suck, but it is crazy.

Okay. I am going to spend a few minutes watching film photography YouTube channels and then I am going to sleep, if I can.

Have a good night, everyone. Talk to you in the mornin’.

House of the Dragon Season 2 Episode 2

The new episode of House of the Dragon premiers on HBO tonight. It is 8:50pm and the episode becomes available on the MAX app at 9:00pm.

I am so tired right now that I don’t think I am going to make it. Hell, it’s 8:50 and I don’t think I am going to make it to 8:51!

If you’ve ever wondered what being in your 50’s would feel like… this is it, folks. Enjoy!

Cook Out

The weather was garbage when we got up this morning, but by lunch it had cleared up nicely. I had a mini-cookout. I made us burgers and fries for lunch. I hope Jen enjoyed it. We were watching Disney Cruise videos while we ate… and now we want to go swimming in the Caribbean.

I have been in the Atlantic Ocean. I have been in the Pacific Ocean. I touched a Great Lake once… actually… twice, I think. I’ve been in lakes and ponds and rivers. I have never been in a Sea though. Taking a dip in the Caribbean could fix that oversight.

Okay, Robert. Back to your chores. That bathroom isn’t going to clean itself.

Another New Film Camera?

I wrote something the other day about the new Pentax 17. The first new Pentax film camera developed since the 1840’s (approximately). I love the idea of it but it’s half frame and zone focusing and more expensive than I was hoping (though just about as expensive as I figured it would be). Also, the camera I took from my father when we cleaned out the house is a Pentax so that seemed fitting somehow.

I won’t be buying one. At least not for a while. I want either an SLR or a point and shoot. They say they are working on both of those, but I’ll just have to wait and see.

Turns out there is another new film camera on the way. It’s a point and shoot with autofocus and it’s not half frame. That sounds awesome! It’s called the Rollei 35AF though I guess it isn’t made by Rollei? Whoever makes it is just licensing the name? I guess. Also it’s going to cost 200-300 more than than Pentax 17 so… yikes. Again, way more than I want to spend, but probably just what I would have expected to spend. This is more like what I would like to invest in, though I would still much rather get a new SLR that would have little side benefits like repairability and warrantees and fun stuff like that.

Still, it’s intriguing. We’ll see.

Now What?

How do you practice self-care?

I was afraid this was going to happen. There are only a year’s worth of daily writing prompts and I have officially lapped myself. So now what? Do I stop? Do I start each prompt with a link back to last year’s response and then write something new? Do I just ignore the duplication?

I don’t know.

Self care? Exercise… diet… all of the things I need to do to not make my stomach hate me. You know how it is when you’re no longer a normal human thanks to surgical alterations. I’m practically an X-File.

Will this be my final daily writing prompt post? I don’t know. This is making me sad in an embarrassing and pathetic kind of way.
