Gatsby

My wife and I are watching last year’s film version of The Great Gatsby. I’d heard the movie wasn’t very good, and while its far from great, so far it’s not as bad as I feared.

My problem with it is my memory. I read it in high school, just like everyone else, but I forget almost everything. I actually just picked up the kindle version because I can’t remember which parts of the movie are accurate, and which parts are some Hollywood douche canoes futzing with an American literary classic.

I’ll get caught up soon enough.

Pissed Off Random Flickr Pic

Untitled

One pic from my random set on Flickr, taken from the steps of the building where all of those people who are supposed to represent us, but instead lie to us in order to put more money into the pockets of those who bought them their positions, work.

Documentary

My wife is in the next room watching a documentary about the distribution of wealth in the United States and I’m sitting here listening, getting more and more furious about the lack of compassion, and the basic greed disguised as politics that a very powerful, yet nearly microscopic percentage of Americans display.

Red Sox Magic

Is anyone else completely over the moon about the Red Sox right now? They took two of three from Detroit and followed it with three straight against the Yankees. They can complete the Bronx sweep tomorrow afternoon. It’s been so much fun over the last week that I can’t wait for the next game. We are seven days into September and thus far we are collapse free. Keep it up!

Go Red Sox!
