January 6th

One year ago today a fascist cult tried to overthrow a lawful election and install an accused sex criminal who openly lusts after his own daughter as dictator. The attack on the US Capital was an attack on Democracy itself.

Here we are a full year later and a smattering of terrorists have been arrested and given what amounts to slaps on the wrist, while the architects of the insurgency are still not only free, but in many cases holding positions of power in the US government.

The Attorney General and the Congress are both holding investigations, but neither has gotten anywhere, and the terrorists involved openly scoff at the government’s investigative powers. Nothing has been done to stop this insult to my country from happening again.

The leader of the cult, the fascist accused sex criminal who openly lusts after his own daughter, will likely run for President again in 2024 and he will likely lose and make a second attempt at installing himself as dictator and erasing the American Experiment from the Earth. There is a mid term election next year as well, and those who are trying to investigate the insurrection may very well be removed from power by the fascists due to their inability to protect Democracy.

It feels like it’s a matter of time before the fascists rise to power again and the country I was born in ceases to exists.

Happy Anniversary, America.

The Kids are Here

The kids got here a couple of hours ago. That makes me very happy.

Lots going on at work. Changes coming. Small, low level reorganization. Good things on the way. I just can’t talk about it, not that I would say anything outside of the most vague references the English language will allow anyway.

The Book of Boba Fett is on tonight. I don’t know if anyone will want to watch it with me. I liked the first episode, but I think I might have been the only one in the house who did. A co-worker said the second episode is excellent. Fingers crossed. Hopefully it has Han Solo coming around for some pay back, you Boba Bitch. A boy can dream, right?

I did some music before work this morning. I put a MIDI bass part onto one of the two new January song ideas. No melody yet. Nothing to sing. I have a few re-records ready for vocals, but I want to have something new to sing before I go for the drive again.

The Bruins won last night. They are 3-0 since coming back from the Covid shut down. They play Minnesota tomorrow. Keep the streak going.

US Attorney General Merrick Garland gave a speech on the investigation into last year’s treasonous terrorist insurrection at the US Capital. Remember that? When a bunch of trump cult maga terrorists tried to violently overturn the 2020 presidential election? The speech boils down to this: We’re working on it. That’s all I wanted to hear, Merrick. Well… maybe that and you’re planning on picking up the pace. Fascist heads need to roll.

17 minutes until the end of the work day. I’m ready.

He Got Away With Murder, I Guess

So the jury gave a verdict in the KKKyle Rittenhouse trial. Not guilty, across the board.

I guess there is legal precedent for non-state residents coming into Wisconsin and murdering people. Seems like it’s hunting season for demonstrators year round now. Good job, Wisconsin. I hope you’re all proud of yourselves. Nothing like state sponsored white supremacy and murder. That’s precisely what the founding fathers had in mind, I’m sure.

You don’t need me to add a here, do you? You know that what happened in Wisconsin today is disgusting and evil, right? You’re smart enough to get that from the context. You don’t need me to spell it out for you, right? You can read between the lines. Good.

Did it Happen?

Today is the day, isn’t it? Has it happened yet? Was the orange pile of fascist goo, ol’ fuckface trump reinstated as president today?

Didn’t those Q fuckers and that pillow shit for brains promise it was going to happen today? So what’s the deal? Do we have a new piece of shit in the White House, or is the decent human being still there.

I’m just so confused.

Happy Independence Day

Happy Fourth of July, everyone. Happy birthday to the USA.

Now can we remove the filibuster, pass the voting rights act, add Washington, DC and Puerto Rico as states, fix the damage done to the Supreme Court, and prosecute the fascists responsible for the January 6th assault on the Capital?

What was the point of winning the Senate and the White House if we were just going to shove our heads up our asses and accomplish nothing?

National Holiday

As of about two days ago, today is a national Holiday.

I think the first time I heard the term Juneteenth was last year. Forgive me, please. I’m a middle aged white guy whose lived his whole life in suburbia. I am not what one would call worldly. I think the first time I heard about it was about the same time I heard about the Tulsa massacre so I thought they were the same thing. Nope. I like the Juneteenth story a lot more.

Now that we have a national holiday celebrating the end of slavery what is next? How about police reform? We have a holiday, so now let’s end the system that gets people killed because their skin is the wrong color. You know, something real that will improve people’s lives? How about we pass voting reform so the jim crow 2.0 bullshit happening all across our idiot country can end and all Americans can have their say in the process? You know, something real.

Happy Presidents Day

Happy Presidents Day, everyone!

Now for me personally, I really don’t agree with having a holiday celebrating the fact that we have had presidents. I would rather have a day celebrating some specific person from our history, but whatever.

Over the last four years Presidents Day has been extra hard to stomach, given that the guy sitting in the office was a fascist, racist, cheeto whose very existence soiled the position in which he “served”. Now that the scumbag is gone though we can enjoy the day again.

Happy day that celebrates 45 out of 46 US presidents, and thanks again to President Biden for literally being alive.

Is Today the Day?

Is today the day that the US Senate once again vomits on the US Constitution by casting not guilty votes in the impeachment trial of former president cheeto McFuckface?

The first time around they put party ahead of country and voted to set the precedent that it’s okay for a sitting president to enlist the help of a foreign country in rigging an election. Today it is likely that they will once again put party over country and vote to set the precedent that it is okay for a sitting president to enlist the help of armed thugs to overthrow the US legislative branch. Also, they will set the precedent that a lame duck president can break any law he chooses because they cannot be found guilty in an impeachment trial after they leave office, even if they are actually impeached prior to leaving office.

It’s going to be a great day for America, he said with total sarcasm.
