This puppy steam cleans like a boss.

What do I want to do tomorrow? Besides the 0.75% of a band practice. I don’t know.
Visit my mother? I could use a little of that. I saw dad today but it’s been a week since I’ve seen mom.
Work on the 50 songs in 90 days thing? Maybe. Probably not.
Get up at sunrise and mess around with cameras again? That would be fun, but where would I go? I’ve hit my favorite spots in town. Maybe downtown Lowell? Maybe the river walk in Lowell? Maybe the Shawsheen river in Tewksbury? I know a couple of good spots, but if the Shawsheen there is as dry as the Spicket here it might not be worth it. Boston? Too far away.
Stay in bed constantly refreshing eBay all day? I’m still the highest bidder but there are 22.5 hours remaining.
Pet the kitty all day?
Finish Umbrella Academy and start Stranger Things or Orville or Westworld or….
I don’t know. In the immortal words of Traffic, from their second record, Who Knows What Tomorrow May Bring?
I did the lunch time thrift shop trip today. No dice. The Salvation Army store in Salem, NH had nothing. The Goodwill store in Salem, NH had a couple of really cheap point and shoots from the ’70’s and nothing else.
Maybe I’ll go back to combing ebay. Maybe I’ll wait a week and try the thrifties again. Maybe I’ll drive up to Manchester, NH this weekend and try there. Who can say, really.
Goodwill had some nice looking record players though. Something to think about. It also had a single electric guitar that was little more than a toy. Interestingly, there was a set of bells (xylophone) for $80. Very similar to what Harry was playing in high school. I thought about it for a second, then returned my focus to the task at hand.
No luck today. Better luck next time.
When I dropped off the first roll of film at CVS (the grossly expired roll that Dad loaded 30+ years ago and I finished two weeks ago) I was told I’d get the results back in 7-10 days. That was 12 days ago.
I can’t seem to find any photo processing labs here in the Merrimack Valley so I’m starting to look into online services. I don’t want to, but I will if I have two. Come on, CVS. Get your ass in gear.
Also, twice this week I’ve told myself I was gonna go-a-thriftin’ at lunch time in the hopes of scoring a film SLR fer cheap, and twice I’ve just stayed home. Tomorrow. I mean it this time. Seriously.
I just watched the season finale of Star Trek Strange New Worlds. I can’t overstate how good this show has been. It blows Discovery and Picard and Enterprise and Voyager and chunks of Deep Space Nine and portions of Next Generation out of the water. Even the best of the spin off shows (Next Generation and Deep Space Nine) were really slow in their first seasons. They took into seasons three and four to really find themselves. Strange New Worlds is already there after only 10 episodes.
The season isn’t perfect. There are a couple of episodes that don’t really hold up against the others, but over all? It’s the best Star Trek we have had in decades. I can’t recommend it enough. And the finale? It was spectacular. It was perfect.
I read somewhere that filming for season two just wrapped. I’m really looking forward to it. I can’t wait.
Yesterday there were two things I wanted to do at lunch time and I didn’t do either of them. One was hit a thrift shop looking for film cameras (Nikon, please) that I can take places without worry about accidentally breaking my father’s Pentax. The other was wander around the woods behind the house with my digital camera.
I still haven’t gone-a-thriftin’, but I did hit the woods this morning. The results were meh, but I’ll post them later today. Some of them, at least.
The woods back there are a deer tick breeding factory so I made sure to wear heavier clothing. As soon as I came into the house (through the bulkhead, into the cellar) all of my clothes went into the washing machine, I did a pretty thorough tick searching inspection of my epidermis, and I hopped into the shower and hosed off my head. I think I am safe from the deer ticks and the lime disease and such. Mosquitos, however. I wasn’t as lucky. Those fuckers are everywhere.
It did sort of screw up my morning routine though. I’m logging in to work now and I haven’t had breakfast yet. I got my 30 minutes of walking in though. My Activity App’s Exercise Ring is good and closed. Also, I didn’t want to be doing laundry while working, but here we are with a washing machine still running and a couple of spins through the dryer in the immediate future.
We’ll live. The only question now is, do I go-a-thriftin’ at lunch? I’m definitely leaning that way. We’ll see.
I was planning on spending some time on YouTube today learning about how to edit photos and all sorts of fun stuff like that. Instead I’m just hanging out with Jen watching the tube. I much prefer this.
I still snuck outside for a couple of random pics tonight. I am still hoping for some red sky and mother nature continues to let me down. Just like winter. Damn it.
Tomorrow. Before work. Walking through the woods. It’s happening. Maybe.
I used the Auto setting for this one because I couldn’t get the light meter to 0 without a 45 minute shutter speed (exaggerating).
Today marks two months since surgery. I didn’t weigh myself to celebrate. I thought about it but decided to keep my Wednesday rule and wait two days.
I feel great. The only issue I have is scheduling liquids. A couple times a day I find the dehydration taking over. There was one time when I was visiting mom that it was bad enough to make me a little light headed. Another time, also during a mom visit (pattern?), my mouth was so dry I couldn’t form some words.
Other than that, it’s been aces. The weight is falling off and I haven’t felt this healthy in over a decade. I have millions of miles to go, but so far it’s all good.
So looking forward to whatever comes next.
Heading home.
