My Pet Peeves

Just three pet peeves? I hope I can narrow it down, there are so many.

Fascists, fascist sympathizers, fascist collaborators. You know, anyone who is even the slightest degree of pro-nazi. Disgusting. Un-American. Just plain evil. They are my number one pet peeve.
People who turn a blind eye to abuse. I’m thinking specifically of the sex abuse scandal in the Boston archdiocese story that broke about 20 years ago. Catholic priests were raping children and when they were caught by their superiors they were not thrown in jail to rot for their evil crimes. Instead, they were reassigned to new towns so that they could rape a fresh batch of kids. After fascism, that is pretty much the most evil thing that I have ever heard of. I’m sitting here getting royally pissed off just thinking about it.
People who pronounce nuclear, “nucular”. The sound of it makes my skin crawl. I mean, nu-clear. It’s not a hard word to work out. Say it right or shut the fuck up. Damn.

There. Those are pretty much my top three pet peeves. I wonder, did I catch the spirit of today’s question? I think so.

I had a bit of an accident while helping to prepare our Thanksgiving Part Deux dinner on Saturday. I did not share any information at the time, but now I feel like it rates a haiku for you. Enjoy.

Doctor Who Anniversary Episode 1/3

My step daughter and I watched the first of the three 60th anniversary episodes of Doctor Who today. I only started becoming a fan about five months ago, but I’d seen every previous episode in the most epic TV binge watch in history so this was the first time I had to actually wait for a new episode.

No spoilers as far as plot goes. It was definitely a fun watch and it fits right in with the show as it was the last time David Tennant played The Doctor. There was nothing earth shattering in it, but I enjoyed it.

One clear difference was the budget for visual effects. It has definitely been increased in a big way. It seems like they have a truck load of Disney cash to throw around and they made excellent use of it. The episode looked amazing.

I’m looking forward to next week’s second of the three anniversary special episodes. Here’s hoping the bigger budget fun continues. Enjoy.

I lost

At one point of Trivial Pursuit I had four pie pieces and Jen and Bellana both had two.

I lost. Jen won. Bellana had all six and I only had five.

I was hoping someone would suggest calling it a game at least half an hour before it ended. It was the most frustrating game of Trivial Pursuit ever played.

It was fun though.

Good So Far

I’m winning but I’ve needed multiple shots at each pie piece so far. I’m not confident at all.
