Week 23 Weigh In

Happy Wednesday Weigh In, once again. 23 weeks post surgery and nothing but a lifetime left to go. My 10’s column changed again so let’s celebrate.

I am down 3.6 pounds. That brings me down to 287.2. 300 pounds seems very far away now. Happiness. Granted, 300 would feel more comfortably far away if I was down to 187.2, but we’ll jump off that bridge should we ever come to it, m’kay?

I just earned myself an Apple Watch activity app award. Most calories burned in a single workout. I was doing my walkies while watching the new episode of Andor and I hit that 3.2 mile (simulated) goal without realizing it. I didn’t notice that I could allow myself to stop until I was almost at four miles (simulated), so I just kept going. 4.02 miles in 45:21 for 758 calories. My exercise goal for today has been obliterated, and my calorie goal is over 75% done. I think I am in good shape for closing that ring today. Hurrah, babie.

Speaking of goals, I didn’t hit my protein goal of 60 grams yesterday. I was super close, 58.38, but I didn’t get there. I had some trouble with my lunch and I didn’t want to push things at dinner so I kept it a lot smaller than usual. I will do better today, guaranteed.

My next check in at the clinic is on Tuesday. Everything is going well so I expect that appointment to feel like a formality. Here’s hoping it all stays on track.

Oh yeah.

After not getting to sleep until 1:00am-ish on Sunday night/Monday morning can you guess what time I fell asleep last night? That would be 1:00am-ish, yet again. I wanted to get up super early to run some errands while still having time to get all my exercise in. Nope. I slept late. I had to run a little during my walkies to make sure I got the distance in before work started. The workout lasted 33 minutes (instead of the 38-42 it has been taking me to get up to 3.2 simulated miles lately) and I ran for about 11 of it. In the immortal words of Austin Danger Powers International Man of Mystery… ouch, babie. Ouch.

Faux 5K

Yesterday I said I was thinking of upping my faux indoor walk game and shooting for a 5k simulated distance instead of just a 30 minute time. Welp, today that’s what I did. It took about 44 minutes to go 3.2 miles. Just about what I was expecting. My legs are beat. Not quite numb, but really tired. I’ll still try to do 15 minutes on the bike later if I can. I won’t stress if I can’t though.

Bellana made it to Germany while we were sleeping last night. Her flight home from there is still showing as on time. It should leave in about an hour. Every finger I have is crossed with every other finger I have in the hopes that she takes off and lands on time. Jen and I are going to the airport to pick her up. I don’t want to have to wait any longer. I want her home!

So television shows. I have started watching season four of Westworld on HBO Max. I’m a few weeks behind, but I’ll catch up. The funny thing here is, I’ve been trying to watch an episode a night while sitting up in bed. I’ve tried twice, and both times I have managed to fall asleep just before the episode ends. Nice, Robert. What are you, some kind of rookie? I started over this morning to make sure I didn’t actually miss anything. With this show, you sort of have to pay a lot of attention. The tiniest detail in episode two can turn out to be the thing the whole series hinges on, you know?

Okay. Going to make myself some scrambled eggs and then punch in to work. Bellana comes home today!

April Fools Day

I don’t have an April Fools joke or anything. I thought about spelling every word in this sentence wrong or something goofy like that, but no. The crappy song I posted last night will be enough of a joke for this year.

The plan is to start walking again. Let’s get back to closing that exercise ring again, shall we? I’m still keeping up with the fasting silliness. I haven’t been weighing in though. That should start next week, even if the first few are painful.

New month, new routine? Is that a thing?

I Might Be Dead

Remember yesterday when I mentioned I had tried to walk in place for a measurable amount of time in order to trick my back into letting me exercise a little tiny bit?

I did it again today. Five minutes of walking in place. Also… I did it twice.

My watch says I have fake walked for about half a mile. For normal people, a half mile walk isn’t anything. For someone as dangerously, dare I say criminally, as out of shape as I am… half a mile is insane.

There is a little part of me that thinks I am actually dead but just haven’t fallen down yet. Like that scene in that movie that I was just about to spoil but won’t because that would be mean of me. She hits him, he talks to her for a while, then he walks away and after a specific number of steps just dies? That movie that I’m not going to mention the name of because it will spoil it for the three people left on Earth who haven’t seen it yet? You all know what I’m talking about, right?

I’ll tell you what, if I do in fact keel over I will immediately post about it from the after life. I promise.

Seriously though… I wonder if I could get myself into the habit of doing this three times a day. I might do it again after work. Assuming I’m alive, of course.
